Ferrari Buyer's Guide by Dean Batchelor will tell you a lot of basic information and an overview of models up to the F50.

All the Best,

Gary: The two Ferrari books written by Keith Bluemel (Original Ferrari V8, and Original Ferrari V12) are very good reference books with lots of great pictures to show the differences between the models. Pick those up, you'll enjoy them!

Try to attend some of the informal Ferrari gatherings that might be held in your part of the country (where are you?). Most of the owners are happy to answer questions.

And don't be afraid to post questions here on FChat. If you are enthusiastic about the subject and polite in your approach, you'll fit in just fine!

My best suggestion is try driving different models, rent them as you can experience them without worrying too much as you would driving your friends car. But in reality there is no better experience than truly owning one, and only then will you experience the reality. Yes you can get some facts here but then again some bullsh*t comes along too with it now and then. Find one who has owned many and possibly you can find some true answers over one who has owned one or has only one. One thing for sure is to be prepared for any kind of service as they do not come cheap. I cannot say I know to much about Ferrari as I only have owned one car but I can say one thing for sure is the satisfaction of reliability is not really good in comparison to a lot of car manufacturers but then again some of us don't really care for the cost as some of us are really thrill seekers and more into the looks and the sportiness of it. If you are new to wanting to get a Ferrari for the first time and maybe want to do some work yourself maybe I can recommend getting a 328 for starters as it's a decent car and easy to work on compared to the new series and it still looks good too.

I am trying to learn as much about the F-cars as possible. The chatline has been a great source of
information. Any other suggestion's how I can become Ferrari literate.
