"...in case any1 needs to get scared."

I want to get scared, where do I sign up? In all seriousness, I won't be at Lime Rock but if I get the chance to be at the same track on the same day, I would love a ride. In fact, I'll make you deal: if I get a chance to ride in that thing, I'll round up another Ducati track bike but one with a passenger seat and take you for a ride around the track. Then we can compare notes on scary.

Tazio, I plan on sealing off the entire floor & finding ways to direct the air that does come in better. Also going to add wheel wells all around, Maybe CF, ALso thinking about adding side windows which should reduce drag considerably

The TR looks very nice William. I am particularly impressed with the cage and the preparation of the interior. The Motec dash is a really good idea and it will really clean up the area in front of the steering wheel. I know that there is a mountain of stuff to do but once the shocks are on and the car is a little more sorted, I would direct some attention to the aero side of the equation. I am certain that your car could benifit from a knowledgably put together aerodynamic package. It's all about going fast now so looks may have to take a side seat.

Will do a wing also, so far with the fat 335 rears it remains very stuck but as speeds increase that could change. maybe I'll set up a harness for the cat inside the car but I think I'll have to give her a barf bag :-)

William

William, please tell me you untie the cat before going on the track?

Er, please never forget to undo her from the car ... that would be unpleasant to say the least.

Reminds me of a very sad story about a friend of mine driving their camper van through the country side. This van had a dog kennel on the back, and when they got to where they were going they realised that the bottom had rusted out of the kennel and lets just say the leash was dragging behind the vehicle ... poor dog :-(

Jon, thanks for the advice, It does have a fire system, its hidden on the passenger side so you cant see it in the shot but you can see it on the dash. Will probably do instruments next year. Development is expensive so I have to do it all in stages. Will also do something for the rear & I want to close up the bottom of the car & install wheel wells

My list of to do stuff is:

Motec ignition system $10k
Penske shocks, custom sway bars, race springs $8k
Stack instruments $7k
spare engine & Trans $30k
rebuilding spare engine & Trans $?????

Can anybody spare a dime ? :-)

Will,

Car looks great. A few things I would add:

1) Plain black wire mesh for the rear
2) Stack Digital dash with full logging capabilities or a Motec dash (about 2-3 K more expensive)
3) I don't see a fire system, install one it's cheaper than rebuilding after a fire. OMP makes one that uses Ecotech foam
4) I know it screws up the clean lines of your TR, but if it's that fast you need a rear wing.

Lastly, I know from experience with my M5 that you will never ever truely finish the car. There is always something you can upgrade. Like my M5 there isn't much available for the TR in terms of race parts so much will be custom made.

At some point you will be able to tell people that nothing is stock except the tub. The only origional parts on my M5 is the tub and door panels. It went from a 250 hp, 3500 pound 4 door sedan to a 330 hp, 2900 pound club racer. A 1988 M5 is worth about 10K and I stopped counting all the $$$'s I dumped into into when it reached about 40K

Good luck and pull those belts tight!!!!

Regards,

Jon P. Kofod

William, that is one bitchin' ride. Awesome work dude. That's true, that dash is crying out for a trick digital display.

I hope you'll find the time to bring it to various tracks across the country (hint: SIR... So I can drive down to see it! )

wide fenders are from Koenig, will use lighter fenders next year. Handles great. It has stock suspension except for front race springs. Hope to have Penske shocks & custom sway bars in time for Cavallino. STill have tons of testing & sorting to do.

Probably will be racing in Historic club Class 10, which allows for "new" cars, next year

I'm having palpitations. Was all the work custom (NACA, W...I...D...E front fenders, etc..)?

Here I am on the front straight. I was going so fast the camera just barely caught the car. I think I was approaching warp speed :-) LOL Good thing the brakes worked or I might have ended upUpload hanging with the Klingons
