Another reason why the doors strakes are in the testarossa is because the holes were to big for USA and Switzerland regulations. Kit cars that I see around look very ugly, specially the fiero based car, the corvette looks stupid with the long boat nose, the easiest way to tell is looking at the wheelbase. And all testarossa replicas look frankly like . |

I don't know the laws for each territory, but apparently there is one for how large 'intakes' can be without a grill of some sort.

>>I have seen a Cizeta in person and it doesn't look like a Testarossa at all. More like a mutant Diablo. There were only ~6 made so they aren't exactly popping up in car lots<< There were 8 made total. The first two went to the Sultan of Brunei who later on sent them to Pininfarina and had the interiors and motors yanked. Pininfarina installed 512TR engines and transaxles. The Cizeta at Marconi museum is one of those cars. The Cizeta is being relaunched at Concorso Italiano, and the spyder version will debut. I had the priveledge of seeing the Spyder a few weeks ago and took video (and stills) of the new car. The engine at 6k RPM sounds like bulls and banshees coming to get you. I've always liked the Cizeta, but with the vertical intake slats, not the "Testarossa" slats (required for USA and Switzerland). Only 2 cars were built with the Testarossa slats. The rest had the vertical slats (which are carbon fiber)

Cizeta-Moroder, perhaps? 16 cylinders mounted transversely into a mid engine layout. http://www.askthedrunk.com/seedyrom/show/cizeta.jpg Found the photo earlier on, as it was posted by Faisal Khan (Tvrfreak) as the topic "For Kenney" http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/288899.html?1059329320 |

Hello Gary....one of the ways to tell a fake TR is to look at the wheels and tires. Real TRs wheel faces are practically flush with the side of the car, in other words they are not recessed or dished inwards. Also a quick glance at the interior tells the story. The kit car proportions are close at times, and in one case I saw a "reproduction" that was so good I had to look through the engine cover to tell if it was real or fake. The guy had a correct interior, and the body looked perfect, he had spent more than 40k to build this car. You can buy a real TR for only slightly more! Whatever that car was doesn't sound like it's worth loosing sleep over. |

James, The fender's on the car looked like they were slightly flared. When I looked down the side of the car It looked wavy. I'm thinking the car might have been fiberglass. |

A kit car. There are several that look like weird TR's. (You have to describe it better) |

As I was driving home from a friend's house I stopped at a car lot to see what they had. I saw a car that looked like a Testarossa, although I don't believe it was. Something about the vehicle didn't look right. Does anyone have an Idea what I might have seen. |
