Sbarro? Oh well that explains it. He is famous for his unusual designs (came up with the motorcycle wheel without a hub).

License plates show a Swiss car from Geneva. Not unusual, place of international and rich people.

Koenig isn't officially linked to Ferrari. Actually for some of his designs (e.g. the Koenig Competition on TR basis) he had to take the official insignia (horse, name badge) off and put on his own badge. Always wondered whether customer would immediately replace his badges again.

Each to his own, but I *luv* Koenig's work. But I'm biased.:-)

Thanks Coop,

Guess I need to retake Internet 101 course because I didn't find that. Bit much to me, but each to their own ... think I would rather have them 12 of them sticking up out of the bonnet :-), like the Kid suggested.

Chris... there is no F-20... they modified the V8 engine already in the Corvette... from 5.7L to 7.0L or 427cid... and they twin turbo charged it. It raced a blue angels jet and performed 0-60 in the high 1 seconds. I also remember it having a drag racing suspension and slicks on too.

Yes, Lingenfelter does amazing things with 'Vettes. I believe it was them that put a F-20 (the jet) engine in a ZO6 allowing it to pull 0-60 in a beautiful 2.8 s.

Yes that Turbo word would confuse a few. I have to admit I like the black 550/575 with the wing :-) ...

So I guess Ligginfelter specialises in modifying Corvettes?, might do a search and see if I can find out more as I have never heard of them.

Sorry Guys,

None of those names meant anything to me. I went and had a look at the Koenig site and there is absolutely nothing official about them, they are a car tuning company. They do many brands with no links to the parent company what-so-ever.

Koenig did race Ferraris ...

Anyway, I had a look at their styling and TO ME PERSONALLY they are terrible, but I never found anything like the crashed 550. Here is a picture of their current 550/575 with wing:

Upload

Note the lack of wankie 6 tail pipes, etc.

Pete
ps: Note I believe Koenig do great work with the engines, etc. but they need to hirer stylists IMO :-)

I'm sorry if that is a Koenig kit then stuff Koenig.

Also when did Koenig become an official Ferrari or anything modifier ... I do not think they have any approval or even anything to do with Ferrari??

Man... I just shed a tear. No bad taste mods there; Its a Koenig kit, the official Ferrari Mod company, so it's still legit. My lord, that is just tragic.

I can see that add now:

For sale:

1 low mileage 550, hardly used, needs minor cosmetic work. Loads of (unnecessary :-)) extras. Never raced or rallied (... probably never got the chance, and the owner was more worried about how they looked ... :-))

Hahaha ... I do hope that the occupants were okay and all.

I like the wheels...Not to crazy on the exhaust or the rear valence thingy...I think a 550 with a chopped/channeled roof would look nice.

maybe the car was one of Uday Hussein's and that black thing it is sitting on is a parachute and it failed to open when they dropped it on Saddam's most recent hideout. Dropping 550's has to be cheaper than our bombs.

Who would have the bad taste gene so bad to have done these modifications to a 550?

I think we should be all grateful that it has ended this way:

OR is it a replica?
