Saw a similar special 2 years ago on ESPN with 2 NASCAR racers going up as passengers in an F-15? Pretty funny as each one started screaming to relieve the stress of the G's they were pulling. Both stepped into the planes with an arrogant attitude and stepped out completely wiped out. |

There was a great PBS show a while back about flying a Mig-29 (or Su-27 or others, take your pick) with the Russian Airforce. They will sell you a ride in whatever you want. You could tell the pilots were getting a kick out of it, sort of a "see how fast you can make them puke" deal. It does look like fun... for about the first 5 minutes. Then the next 20 min of puking into a bag while trying not to puke all over yourself, the plane and on the pilot while still pulling 5g to 9g dont look like so much fun. Dont expect mercy from the pilots, they are using the fuel for actual training and practice time, screw you if you cant hold your lunch! Terry |

past: ferrari 348ts (not happy), porsche 928s4 (fun and bulletproof), last generation m5 w/ dinan chip (best car ever owned up to that point) current: ferrari 512tr (unbelievably great car), 456gt (dleivery in june). currently co-owned with father: austin healey 100/4 (very retro tech, weird drving position), jaguar xke series 1 (classic poise, love it until it overheats), porsche 930 '77 (unbalanced, not fun in the rain, but great acceleration), mercedes sl600 (easy muscle, nice poise, a keeper) wanted: from your list no to the aston martin, de tomaso, iso; too many horror stories from friends. yes to the ghibli, especially spider, but there aren't any cheap ones left. no to the lotus, any year. poor build quality, uncomfortable driving, poor ergonomics. yes to the viper gts, but in plain colors, no stripes. wanted badly: 275 gtb, gotta own it someday. new sl 55, seen it and its powerful. bmw z8, got to replace the chip, but this is a classic in the making. new m5. amg e55 wagon (de-restricted), something about a 200mph wagon that stirs the senses. win the lottery cars: 959, f40, f50, f60, bugatti eb110 and no i don't think you are unusual since i make these mental lists every year ! |

No JPS in 72 (although build date may have been Sept or later). 73-74 only. But the JPS are too hot in the summer!! All that black for a car that barely cools itself in winter is not a great idea. They're exactly like any 5 speed Special except the dash badge anyway. They made 200 of them and only about 450 are known to be left. ;>) |

Realistic car dreams: I'm basicly 328 or NSX or BMW M roadster. Diablo if it was more drivable ( same for TR ) I just feel car is too big on road for my likeing. I still get up every-day and check the web for that Baby Lambo that is due out this year. I can't wait to see if that one realy comes true. I think Audi will add a lot to quality and drivability if they pull it off. |

I'm only "allowed" one toy car at a time by the boss; current is a Lotus Europa. I'm curious if I could live with a carb 308; a QV Mondial makes more sense however. My dream is an old 12. My pipe dream is a 288GTO. Also, if Bret ever wins the lottery I want to be his new best friend. |

Realistic car dreams: * Ferrari Basic Pilota course at Mugello * Ferrari Advanced Pilota course at Fiorano * The Formula One driving course I *am* going to do those some day. Oh, you said "realistic dream cars"? Yeah, well doing the above will cost me one of those realistic dream cars... but here goes: A really, really lightweight track car... the Lotus Elise-R... it would be an interesting contrast to my 360 F-1. However, I could go all the way and get an actual racecar... Formula 3000 or some such. Or maybe even a Spec RX7 which I wouldn't mind getting bumped around in wheel-to-wheel racing. The new M3 with sequential shifter to replace my current E36 M3 is tempting; but more likely, now that I have a 360, and my three children are growing, an M5 replacement is in my future. And then, a more exotic, unique convertible 4-seater to replace our somewhat boring 911 Cab (which is constantly mistaken for a $50k Boxster, BTW). I don't really care what people think; rather, the 911 just doesn't seem to have much personality... it never endeared itself to me like either my M3 or my 360. A convertible 456? Maybe a Maserati? A Hummer to replace the 4-Runner... well, maybe... when I am way out on some mountain road in the middle of nowhere... literally... where very few tow trucks could even get to... that ol' boring Toyota reliability is sure comforting. My unrealistic dream cars are: Mclaren F1, F50, Porsche 959, F2001, and a NASCAR (the latter is not to drive, silly... just for a planter for my yard! ;^).

that new Morgan sure looks sweet. i have a love/hate relationship with english cars. once owned a TR-3. always wanted an Europa or maybe one of those Lotus 7 racers or maybe one of those old Bentley racers to do the Peking-London rally. but then again i hadn't thought about a throne on a pyramid but i'll take a pass on the pickles. |

Dreams in general: 1. start a prostitution ring 2. win the lottery 3. spend my days sitting on a throne on top of a pyramid while big breasted women throw small pickles at me. Ferrari dreams: 1. 333sp 2. 288, F40, F50 3. do all my mods to the 308 Car dream (and next goal): 1. 427 Cobra replica w/big block (obviously) bored and stroked to approximately 510CI and somewhere in the area of 650HP. |

Past: Corvette C5 Current: Acura NSX Wanted (badly): Ferrari 355 Ferrari TR512 Wanted (kind of): Lotus Esprit (97-00) Aston Martin Vantage Porsche 996TT I say "kind of" with these three because each one isn't 100%. I had a chance to buy a nice Esprit when I bought the NSX, but felt that the NSX would be more liveable and easier to pile miles on for me. The itch is still there though. The Aston is outrageously expensive and, if I had the means to acquire it, I'd be in the F car ;-) The 996TT always tugs at me, but the high-end 911s are always tough because they aren't really distinguishable from the far cheaper variety. Not sure if I could pay $130k for a car that 99% of the population confuses with a $70k car. |

First, this question is not meant to create a fiasco of people knocking on other people's desires... Most readers her own some sort of Sports Car (mostly Ferrari), thus, a dream has become a reality. What other cars are on the "realistic" list of yours right now? Scenario: your car is stolen, you receive cash value, what other non Ferrari options would cross your mind. These also are cars that you may have almost purchased before but passed on. Hence, a 308 will not really be replaced by a Porsche 959, Lambo Miura etc... Past:Ferrari 308, Porsche 911 and 928 Current:DeTomaso Pantera(slightly enhanced) and a Porsche 928GT Wanted: Ferrari again, not sure which Aston Martin V8 (70s vintage) Austin-Healy 100/4 DeTomaso Mangusta Maserati Ghibli Iso Grifo Lotus Esprit('93-'95) Acura NSX Hemi muscle or a GTO Porsche 930 ('78-'79) Viper Cobra(replica) And some other intriguing ones...not meant to be flamed please Z06 Vette, Supra TT, RX-7 TT
