Dave,

Thanks for pointing out my spelling error. I should be more careful and use that speller-checker thingy :-)

Since this was such a lively discussion I'll have to report on the event when I return. Of course you all will be mostly interested in what types of fashionable country club attire was being worn. However, I might slip in a few details about the Ferrari's that attended and what we found in Larry Carter's car barn.

Yeah, well, I'm just a humble reader who takes words literally....snicker snicker.

I'll bet Nika is blushing Rosso Monza right now!

Have a great weekend, all

Took my 308 to Las Vegas last summer; as we who own them know they don't allow for much trunk space so the Armani stuff stayed home...we decided to eat at one of the 'nicer' steak houses in the original downtown, only to discover they had a dress code! Told 'em I wore a Ferrari to their fine establishment - had a great dinner!

F-J, didn't you mean "public", not "pubic"?

DEFINITE Freudian slip, if you know what I mean here...:-)

Of course I do - I have my
"Harley" T-shirt from Waco Texas,
my "My next Husband will be Normal" shirt and my favorite: a shirt with the whole F1 Pit crew working on a car.

Nika,

Do you mean that you do not have one single old T-shirt that might be a little snug but comfortable enough to wear to bed? Of course you would never wear it in pubic. :-)

I guess it's like keeping service records for the car. In this way we have proof of being there. Nothing wrong with that! I enjoy putting on my college sweatshirt from time to time. What's left of it, that is.

I have a Jim Clark sweatshirt. When I wear it people think I've saved it since the sixties. I've really only had it about 5 years...

I've realized my fascination with keeping stuff that has been worn way too much is two fold. It is based on my laziness and my lack of caring. I always get new jeans and collared shirts and stuff, but I have the same t-shirts from like, who knows, 6th grade. Since you don't really out grow these things with there generic sizes, who wants to change. Someday I'll get new ones....like when I get married...

old sneekers, short jeans, best if you cut them off yourself, dirty T-shirt and a Jack Danierls out of the rear pocket.

...then pull into the Valet with your F-50 and tell them who is BOSS !

stinking Country Club Crowd!

bwaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa GUYS giving fashion advice! I'm rolling here.....so funny. I mean you guys can't even throw out a 20 year old "hole-y" pair of undies.......yeeeeeeeeeeeech!

Country club attire is collared shirt- clean pressed slacks and really no sneakers. It's that simple.

thong? Oh gawd - pass the shoe-horn and some lard......SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE

(snort chuckle)

Whart, "Faddish attire"? What the hell is that? Seeing signs like that makes me want to wear the most ridiculous clothes just for the hell of it, or perhaps have a t-shirt made especially for going to that hotel that simply said "faddish attire".

In high school, whenever they made us wear sportscoats and other crap like that to events, several buddies of mine would actually go to the salvation army and buy leisure suits to wear.

Anybody that dictates the form of my attire is a club which i would never want to join. I remember going to a lawyer convention at some god forsaken hotel in the poconos once, and the sign in the lobby indicated that management strongly discouraged the wearing of "faddish attire." My suggestion: wear what you want; F ck 'em.

I'd go with the Ferrari shirt and a red or yellow Ferrari thong...;-)...but only for Nika, I'm afraid.

Otherwise, the shirt & khakis or slacks--maybe even a sport coat in cool & refreshing San Fran.

Also be careful that the club pro doesn't get casual with your wife and your wife doesn't wear him as her attire.

Just don't wear the FILA CLOWN SHOES. Remember, you have a reputation for taste at most country clubs.

Yes, Tom. I guess I'm a Blue Collar kind of guy. I always remember my dad trying to claim his "uniform" as a deduction on his taxes. He said his uniform was a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

No jeans, slacks/chinos, polo shirt and maybe a sports jacket. Leave that old Members Only jacket at home. If you really want to fit in carry a tennis racket and put a golf tee behind your ear....Norm

What does that mean? I'm going to an event the Ferrari Club of America Pacific Region is putting on and that's what they say to wear. Having never really been to a country club I'm not sure. Is a pair of non-faded jeans and a Ferrari polo shirt appropriate?
