Came from a Dell Inspiron, now have a PowerBook G4. Ain't never gonna look back. Having said that, neither is perfect, but I love the crash free environment of the Mac, plus it is intuitive as heck.

Thanks for the info guys. Bret, I'm using the same thing you are but I like to upgrade pretty often. John, thanks for the offer, if I go with IBM I'll let you know.

tyler - i'm a sony slut. typing this right now on my fourth sony laptop (i upgrade every 16-18 months). i used to be a toshiba slut.

if you want the smallest lightest stuff on the market, go sony. that's my primary criteria since i carry it all the time and my big old toshiba made some wonderful bursitis messes in my shoulder.

if you can go mac (i cannot) the g4 is slick, but it's expensive, big, heavy, etc. but it is slick.

my two pennies.

good luck!

doody.

Dell Inspiron 8100, like 1Ghz w/Windows XP. It is working great for me, I would definitely get the same thing again. It's got so many sweet features. A lot different than the other windows, but once you get the hang of it it works a lot better.

I have the G4 Mac powerbook and running OS X. It took a while to get used to it, but now I don't want to go back any more. I love the flexibility of the wireless Airport feature. I'm totally hopeless with a PC, so I can'c compare them for you

I figure I am not the only one on this forum who depends on laptops. It's time to replace mine and I was wondering what you guys use. Either Mac or PC platform work for me. I am a current Dell user and really like their top of the line laptop. I am also looking at the Titanium G4 Mac powerbook and the IBM laptops. What do you guys use and have you had good experiences with any of these?
