I just wanted to say how nice it was to meet some of the great guys from F-chat Saturday night at Capri! The food was good, the beer was cold and the cars were great. Rob L and Dave S, thanks for organizing the event. Dr. Tom, it was nice being able to talk with you about your experiences of owning Ferrari over a great dinner and better understanding the passion. Rob K, your 360 with those pipes sounded awesome pulling out of the restaurant (are you sure that those things won't get you thrown in jail)! I hope to be able to see all again next year. With the new June F1 date we only have to wait 9 months!

I do have many more stories to tell i tried to keep it on a "G" rating level in respect to all of the ladies at the dinner. I will try to post some of them in OT when i get a chance. Also i will try and post some pictures from back in the day.

All in all it was a great time. I am paying dearlyfor it right now since my first class of the day got cancelled at the last moment and now i am waiting the 2nd class to start. Hopefully i will make it out early so i can get some much needed sleep.

I had them as well but it still didn't help much as I couldn't find the place. I was coming from the south as well.

I had my maps in back pocket and lost them at the track on Saturday. Duuh! Also I approached from the South, which made things trickier. But I'll make it next year. GPS has been ordered.

For everyone that got lost, it must of been easy to do as at least 3 separate parties had problems finding it. I had printed out a maps.yahoo.com before I left Dallas and it got me there. We came from the North though and it was pretty straight forward. Take Keystone South of 465 and then look for Ruth after crossing the river. It was just a small street and twisted around about a block with the Capri on the left. Next year I'll post the map along with the directions.

ahhhhhhh... I am in the same boat as Andreas -Sorry but we drove around for 40 minutes and could not find it either. Was the Ruth Drive also known as a street number? I was driving back and forth down North Keystone and could not find it for the life of me. We ended up eating at Carrabas.

Had fun talking to you all during the qualifying though - next year will definitely print out many more maps and get cell phone numbers!

Sorry I missed you guys. Drove around for an hour, but couldn't find it. I think I was still too far south, but who knows.

Glad I had a chance to meet some of you guys the day before. Better luck next year. Now I will get serious about putting a GPS into my car. Getting lost all the time is too annoying and missing out on a party with friends really hurts.

Great show even in the rain/cold. It was great to meet everyone at the Capri last night. To bad Michael did not wrap up #6, but for all practical purposes he's got it. Everyone have a safe trip home and we'll see you next June with better weather!

Didn't see the GT there in the same spot yesterday. It was displayed (or another red one) in front of a hotel by the Friday night circle concours though.

Had a great time last night! Thank you David for talking with the owner and getting the reservation and the upfront Ferrari parking. What a nice restaurant and that food may be the best Italian ever. I didnt know what half of it was, but I know it was good.

Thanks to everyone who came out, I hope everyone enjoyed the company and dinner. It means a lot for me to met up with users face to face. Thank you!

We had 22 people total. Had one group call to cancel and two separate individuals never made it after getting lost. Luckily I had personally downloaded every map I could find and maybe it was easier to find coming from the North.

Here's a group shot...

I missed out on the car show friday afternoon due to the rain, (and the possibility of hail :-( ) I did make it to qualifying today though.

Awake finally and about ready to get out to the track. Late night, well, I guess early morning, we'll anyway. :-) We're all doing fine now.

Met up at the circle downtown last night and hung out with Andreas and his friend. We're still planning on meeting at Noon to watch the qualifying session.

A couple pics...

Mister Jones, there was a sign up with FCA on line, but I bet if you just show up at the zoo entrance, they'll let you in (into the drive, not the zoo, well that maybe too...).

At the garage gate. Fire up the engine in 30 minutes.

DaveL is here in Indy. 504-615-6061. Weather is great and so is the track. The pit walkabout was superb today. Got a couple views of Ross Brawn early in the morning. Didnt see any drivers though. Downtown at the circle right now at Kinkos. The quickest way to the circle for the Ferrari gathering is 16th Ave past the track to Meridian. Make a right on Meridian and head to the circle. Cant wait for the race!!! :-)

Rob, I'll be at the SW entrance gate at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm (meeting point for my buddy). So if you want to team up, give me a call and/or be there. I will definitely leave after 2pm for the zoo.

Would be fun to have you along (my buddy has to drive his rental, that's why the seat is empty).

PS: As we all know, it is NOT qualifying anyway. Just a misnomer. Given the uncertain weather on Saturday the guy ending up last on Friday might even have the best chance on Saturday. Who knows.

Well the boys from Pennsylvania are ready to roll and head to the Mecca of Racing! Got to pickup the car at the dealer in about 30 minutes and then off we go. Tom Williams, his cousin Mike and I are looking forward to some fine dinning and talking F cars with all of the F-chat guys Saturday night. I will be the guy driving the lowly Laguna Seca Blue M3. Hope all have a safe trip out and will see you guys then.

3pm - 3:30pm getting the cars in line at the Zoo
3:30 - 4pm drive through Indianapolis
4pm - 8:pm gathering at the circle (concours/dinner)

So you could make it downtown after the track.

Rob,
I'm planning on arriving at the track around 12:00pm. Will take in the place myself till 2pm, then head downtown for the FCA meeting. I plan on being at the SW gate entrance. If you like I could give you a ring.

Also have an empty co seat in my car. If you want to ride shotgun for the drive through Indy.

Just found out my friend who's making the trip with me made things harder than he needed to. For the same cost as my direct flight AA that arrives 9:30am he is going through several other cities with SW and arrives in the afternoon. Friday I want to just walk most of the areas and take the entire place in. If anyone is around Friday and wants to meet up that's cool.

OK, how about this. We can sit in H or J after we gather up. Let's meet at Noon where the Red X is behind H and right where everyone goes through the tunnel. There are several food and drink vendors here. I'll have on my black FerrariChat.com Race Team t-shirt and dark green shorts if it's warm or blue jeans if colder. Call me on the PCS phone if you need to. We'll plan on finding a seat by 12:10.

Does that sound good?

I would say right after Porsche qualifying at Noon. I'll be in the area anyway, so close. I'll need to grab some food and enough beer to last through qualifying.

I have a meeting at 11 today, so when that's done I'll look at a track map and try to find a place to meet.

I can't answer the location question, but we need to adjust the timing a bit:

9:15-10:00 a.m. F1 practice
11:15-12:00 p.m. Porsche qualifying session
12:30-12:45 p.m. F1 warm-up
1:00- 2:00 p.m. F1 qualifying

So if we make it 30 min prior to F1 qualifying, it would be in the middle of F1 warm-up. We would loose our good seat for qualifying.

So I would suggest to meet during the Porsche qualifying (who cares anyway?). Say 11:45?

Yes, I want to watch qualifying down there in Turn 1 where you can see the TV screens for times. If we want to meet, maybe close to a beer vendor down there? Is the tunnel that goes under the track closest to that Turn 1 or is that down South a little farther?

Do you like H better than J? I found J to be better last year. Has anyone been in the NW Vista? I couldn't get any seats in J and only row 2 in H, so I took halfway up the NW Vista. Is it really far? Has to be better than the front straight seats I had last year, right?
