Everyone has a color preference. I am "by far" more interested in a vehicles overall condition:
documents, services, # of owners, condition etc... Color choice for me is "way" down there. I have no interest in automatics.

Euro is a possiblity? I think these cars are
going to go farther South soon. It is possible
to consider a Euro that was brought over here as a NEW car; if it might be picked up at a reasonable discount over a US car.

It's funny I was looking at auction results for these cars and this red one (from Ferrari ads) was at the Amelia island auction. Here is what they said about it.

Condition Description
Tubi exhaust, fitted luggage, CD changer, radar detector and alarm. Seat wear, stone chips and fresh-from-the-trip interior detritus attest to it being a driver. Current owner has had it for sale for a year, asking close to low estimate of $75,000.

Market Opinion
Plenty of pristine, low-mileage 456s available in more attractive colors, and the crowd bid it to a low no-sale. But hey, the owner didn't have to fight for a parking spot at the Ritz all weekend.

Sean Harris is a member of this site maybe he could give you an Fchat discount. Do you mind Euro cars? Any color preferences?

There is a two owner 95 forsale under F chat 12
cyl ads with 27K miles for an asking price in
the mid 60's. Car also had a 30K service and
updates. Mileage seemed a "little" high.

That looks like a nice car. I assume you are
talking about their 95 ? It was not pulling up from my home computer with your link. That dealership always seems to have reasonable prices.

I was looking at auction reports for the 456GT. There have not been any sold below 80K according to the SCM database.

ONE MORE THING:

Interesting how you mentioned that the 456 GT
should not go below the 50K range which I have
heard other posters here sit on the fence and
patiently wait for.

The 412 is really another car completly. The
412 suffers in my opinion a worse problem than
the Testarossa. What happens when an owner
gets an estimate from the mechanic for a $12K
bill ? What do you do if you car is worth $30K
at most ? You will not have the car increase
in value after the service. I have seen alot
of 412's that have suffered. I really like the look of the 412.
The face on the 412 is really unique and special in my opinion.
It just seems completly Italian. Someone did there homework
on that one.

The 456 GT has alot more performance to offer
over the 400/412 series. It will have to lose
more when the replacement comes out soon. It
has alot to offer. Luxury and GT performance.

97 for 110K ? That is not a market rate.
This is where I mentioned that some of the dealers
are advertising cars that are above and beyond
what the market brings. F of SF has a F512M
with 10K miles for a price of 175K ? Is anyone out there ? There are 97 USA 550's that "sell" at a price of 115K and up. They may not be dealer cars. I have seen 550's advertised by dealers for the upper 120's. I assume they might include at least a tie or something similar on deal day ~ last day of the month ?

Don that is a nice red Queen Mary that you have. Must purrr while driving that 12 ?
I agree with your price range you posted.

On pricing: I think a lot of the cars with absurd prices must be consignment cars. The dealers know what price cars are really selling at, and I've noticed that if they want to move a car it's usually priced within reason.

My local dealer has a 97 6-speed priced at $110k, and they've had it over a year. I don't know what the story is, but obviously they are in no hurry to sell it.

I test drove one the other day, and I found it to be a very impressive touring car-- which is what I like. The only real drawback I could see to it was that the trunk was much smaller than I expected.

This surprised me because the trunk on my 365 2+2 is huge, and I've looked at C/4 and 400/412 trunks, all pretty good size.

Don:

I think that is alot of car for the money.
Maybe it is not a track car ? It sure is
alot under the hood and inside though.
Perhaps an excellent all around GT car ?

I've been looking at a 456 myself. Personally, I think market value on an average 95 is around 70-75k.

I don't see them falling much below $50k, but that's just a guess based on prices I'm seeing for 412s and C/4s.

Greetings:

Anyone know where a really nice low mile 456 GT
6 Speed is available forsale ? I am looking for a car my children can also ride in. I would really like to find a car through a private seller. I cannot see paying 10-15K more for a car through a dealer. I know all dealers are different but some of the factory authorized dealers are "NOT" in touch with reality when it comes to this car. I know they will be willing to take money off of their asking price, but 89K
asking price for a car with 10,000 miles is more than the market is paying. I am willing to wait for a nice car through a private seller. Unfortnately for the cars, I feel the car is about to take a real Swan Dive and sink in price?
The replacement is about to be released. I assume the engine and transmission is a strong point of the car. I have always liked the looks of this car. Any advice or information would be appreciated.
