Try www.paintscratch.com they'll match your car's paint color code. Ferrari of Denver (authorized dealer) uses them for their touch up paint source. FOD recommended them. They have everything you need (primer, paint, clear coat, materials, instructions). Matched my paint well (metallic blue) and had everything within a week.

Has anyone else had experience with www.paintscratch.com?

Take care,
Patrick

Mr. Ward:

I like your sense of humor, but its probably what the car deserves. If you're going to drive, it can't be perfect any more.

Bart,

Go to Kragen, they sell a paint-touch up kit. Comes with a small vial of Primer, + a small vial of clear coat + Instructions (about $10). Then, you just need to find a vial of touch up paint that matches your paint. Voila!!

BTW, I have this kit at home. So, if you need it, I believe you are local to me- I can probably help you out.

If worse comes to worse, go to you local model store and get the closest colour paint that you can find. I am pretty sure that you will find an exact match. Fill it in and have fixed professionally when you want. Just say no to garage queens.

I'd go find a gravel road and 'even it out'...

Just by a can of primer paint and some of close to the right colour and squirt them on, after sanding a little.

Must use primer and sand otherwise the paint will fall off. Top coat does not stick to metal well.

I would not panic about it, just touch up as I have indicated (spray cans only cost about $7, and actually spray really good nowadays :-)).

One day you can get the front valance repainted ... properly.

Put some WD40 on it...That's what saved my ass on a bare bike frame.

Bart
Go to the P4 in Red thread in the vintage sec. Look at my car after it won Daytona. That's what real cars look like. Drive it. Touch it up. Drive it some more.

If you intent is to drive it, then just drive it and dont worry about it. your going to get more anyway. just touch it up and move on. if you really drive it like you say then by the end of the year you should have about 12,000 miles on it. then by the end of next year just repaint the front end. if you believe in not having a garage queen then why would you worry about a chip. you should see all the chips on my F40. nose and around all four wheel wells. drive it have fun and dont worry about it.

I am posting this on two very good Ferrari sites. I want to find out who can give me the correct answer the fastest. I will not be able to use the information until the following Monday. I just wish to see which web site has the best answer. The Question is this:

I have had a very nasty rock hit on my sweet thing in the lower right hand fender area. It was very low. Yipes! The gash is the size of a quarter. Pissed off. It went all the way, right through the clear coat and the color. It is down to the primer and maybe the metal. Some of you may think I am nuts driving my toy at speed. This is what I purchased the fastest production car of the 20th Century for. It went twice in 4 weeks to Las Vegas which is about 280 miles one way from me. Garage queens are for queens. Drive it or lose it.

Anyway, I need to cover the metal now, not in six months if I have the money. My daughter says I should cover it with some of her clear nail polish.

Get the Idea? I need an idea and I need it now, not next Tuesday. Bare metal does not like the atmosphere. Paint just protects the metal around the engine which makes me happy.

Smiley Face.
