I got ticketed once for a noisy exhaust in my Lancia Fulvia. The officer obviously had never seen a Lancia Fulvia, he had no idea what they sound like, but he gave me a ticket anyway, and the Judge upheld it. Anyway, I looked up the section in the "lawbook". It didn't give any standard in decibels, it simply said that the system had to been in good working order, and that it was not legal to install anything in the system that would raise the noise level above the stock system. This is in the state of Washington. So unless the regulations have been changed, it isn't even legal to have a Tubi on your Ferrari in Washington. I personally don't like them on street driven vehicles, so I'm not going to buy one. Each to his own. |

I just put a Stebro on my 83. The car had a somewhat loud exhaust when I bought it 8 years ago. Since then I replaced it with a stock exhaust. It still sounded good but I always felt that it was too quiet. The Stebro is much louder then stock but I love it. My wife didn't think it was too much different from inside the house (but I am setting off peoples car alarms in parking garages again which the stock system almost never did) It also has removable silencers in the tips, so you can adjust the sound but only louder. With all the silencers out, it is so loud (obnoxiuos)and I really like that also. It will be great for track days. |

I know there are differences between the 308 & 348 but when I put test pipes on my tubi.....WOW! It was a totally different car. I think you'll have similiar results if your cats are hollowed out and you add the tubi exhaust.. dave |

I'd love the weight savings and flow increases a tubi brings, but I just couldn't stand the additional noise (I have a muffler on my harley too BTW). Personally, I think the car is plenty loud as it is. I have been thinking about building something using a pair of these: http://store.summitracing.com/productdetail.asp?p=3968 .....maybe I'll find time over the winter.

Compare a 275GTB/4 to a stock 550M - drive 'em back to back - you'll understand the need for Tubi. ITS NOT ABOUT VOLUME - it's about delivering an aural thrill which is an essential part of the Ferrari experience. Something being increasing lost with draconian and foolish legislation from beaurocrats that will never understand or drive the cars we love... Ever driven a BB? Even a F355? A TR, a Daytona??? The sound is essential - one of the things that made these cars famous. A Tubi has NOTHING to do with being obnoxious... It's all about getting back that Ferrari music.... That's why they sell soo many. |

Tubi, Tubi, Tubi!!! Personally, I simply don't get it. What is the deal with wanting a louder exhaust? Is the Ferrari driving experience really all that dependent on making noise? I feel the same way about Harleys. They have a pizza night for Harleys down the hill from where I live on Thursdays. Those people will never admit it, but they make noise for the sake of noise, it isn't about riding, it's about being obnoxious. Sorry, Tubi lovers.... |

Hi Ken, I have had the Tubi on my 85 308 for over a year and love it. To me, it is not loud enough. I also have taken out the cat and installed the test pipe, which realizes much smoother flow. I am not sure how much HP it adds but you cn definitely feel the difference while driving. I highly recommend to get one and test pipe. Enjoy!

Hey Ken, Fellow 85 QV owner here with a recently installed Tubi. If it is "sound" you want, then it is SOUND you will get! The Tubi is loud - in fact a bit too loud for my taste (as I have stated here before). Yes, the sound is fantastic! It's just that with the Tubi, there's a bit too much of it. However for you, as many here, it may be exactly what you're looking for. BTW - no real power gain for me either. Good luck! |

Hi, Ken--when I was shopping for my 308 I had the opportunity to drive cars with aTubi, Ansa, and Stebro mufflers installed. I found the Tubi to be the loudest of all. For my taste, I found the Ansa to have the mellowist sound of the three and most to my liking. However, they all sounded real good. |

I have been thinking of purchasing a Tubi for my 1985 308QV. The car currently has a hollow cat and a stock muffler. Will the Tubi make any difference over my current exhaust system? I am more interested in sound and not any hp gains. I would love to hear from other 308 owners who have purchased a Tubi. I have many other ways to spend $2K if the Tubi does not make much of a difference. Thanks. Ken
