How about a sports sedan like a BMW M3, M5, Mercedes-Benz C32, E55, S55, S63, Audi RS6, etc? A combination of unsurpassed luxury and room with performance that can match an F355 Berlinetta/GTS/Spider and 360 Modena/Spider on the street. |

I'd have to change the 348 for the 3200, in negotiations now on a silver car with red leather. |

I have been thinking, I am probably better off with the 456MGT the later one with modifications then early ones. I am a bit worried about the problems with early ones like cooling / radiator, electrics etc. The thing is the later model is still very expensive. Would you change the 348 Spyder for a 3200 GT Maserati ??? or keep the 348 and get a family car. |

I am not keen on the Maserati's F1 system. I find it jerky. I have always had a craving for Aston Martins, but never owned one. I wonder if anyone could share his experience in that regard. |

well, hmm, the aston sounds very nice & LHD is very easy to get used to, price sounds good too. The 4200 is undeniably a far superior car to the 3200 but for me its a cost issue. I'd keep the Ferrari and if you can afford it get a decent 2nd car. |

Craig, I have been thinking about keeping the ferrari and have a better family for all of us to use. I think the 4200 GT to a better car then 3200 GT what do you think. I found a Aston Martin DB7 Vantage V12 for 39,000 its a LHD but only 22,000 miles on T 1999... |

Hi Justin, firstly congratulations. Secondly, I had similar thoughts when I found out we were having a baby, however, I decided to keep the fcar and use our Jeep when we all go out together. Am considering changing for a 3200GT at moment though. Good luck whatever you decide. |

are the 95-96 models better than the 92-94 models? Here in the US, we only have those 456 starting 95. |

I agree with Abangdin's advice. Try to avoid the earlier models, since the later versions of 456 are known to be more reliable, and much of the earlier faults have been rectified. The headlight motors have to be replaced with newer units. Old ones do not seem to last. This week, the petrol cap would not spring open. The petrol attendant tried to move the cap, and the result was that the metal cover to the cap fell out. I then noted, with some degree of incredulity, that the metal cover was simply GLUED onto the mechanism without any other securing means. --- Italians. Other than that, the V12 is absolutely unbelievable, and it is just about as graceful and elegant as you can want of a 4-seater automobile.

The 456GT has a few inherent faults. 1. The glass windows don't shut correctly. There will always be a gap and you'll be bothered by the wind noise. And worse, the rain. Ferrari has a recall on this to change the glass window mechanism but not many owners know of it. It's quite a major job because they have to remove the door and to replace and realign the window mechanism. It's a week's job. Check whether the owner has sent his car to get this done by the Ferrari dealer. 2. There's an aero damper at the rear, just below the rear bumper that is activated when the car is at speed. This tend to be "stuck" open, so check this as well. 3. The mechanism for the pop-up headlight is another area of concern. Sometimes when opened only one will close back. Check on this too. Apart from that the car is perfect. I don't own one but 3 of my close friends have then and they all have similar complaints. The 456M is a great car. If you can, get that one. |

Guys, I have found out that my wife and I will soon be having a child in March 2004. I am seriously thinking of selling the 348 spyder to buy a 2+2 Ferrari 456 GT for about the same money. I have been offered on a number of occasions 40,000 sterling for my 1994 348 Spyder that's LHD in the UK. Around the same money I can but a 1993 to 1996 456GT or a Maserati 4200 GT depending on mileage. I have had few Maseratis but actually love the Ferrari more. I love the 348 Spyder which I can have special baby seat made to fit in the car or just change it for a 456GT. The sound of a V12 gets my going and a friend of mine has one which has convered close to 180,000 miles ??? When he's in Germany he reguarly has running over 180 mph for few miles, its touched 200 mph, amazing.... I do not know what to do because , I know someone that has a 512TR with a baby seat in it special made. I love the 512TR. I do think the running costs on 512TR is high compared to the 456GT and 348 Spyder. The main problems that have been told about the 456GT is... Electric Windows can be faulty Power steering can wear out Fuel consumption low - HOW CARES !!!!!!!!!! I need your help !!!!! The wife loves the 4200GT.... |
