I had Authority chips installed on my '94 348. I don't know if there is a 22hp increase but the car runs much smoother. The chips eliminated the dead spot between 3500 & 5000 RPM. |

Frank, I have a 1995 F355 TB (now converted to a Challenge car). In 1998 I had my chips replaced by Ferrari of Washington and also at the same time had a Tubi Sport exhaust installed. I hate to say it, but other than the nice sound that the Tubi made I noticed no difference at all. I am very weary of all these claims about such and such horsepower gains with normally aspirated engines. Turbocharged engines really respond well to tuner chips but normally aspirated engines don't because all you can really remap is the fuel aspect. My other car is a heavilly modified BMW M5 and we have had that engine on an engine dyno and kept swapping aftermarket chips to see what gains we got in hp. We used all the big well know BMW tuners like Dinan, Jim C. and Autoahority. Most claimed gains of 30-40 horsepower. My engine is normally aspirated and makes 256 hp in stock form. In the best case we got 13 horsepower. BMW chips were a monumental waste of money and instead I changed the cam to a Schrick 280 cam. It cost three times the amount of any chip but the dyno showed a 39 horsepower increase. I wouldn't waste the money. Regards, Jon 1995 F355 Challenge 1988 Dinan M5 1997 750iL |

Has anyone replaced their car's stock ECU chips with aftermarket ones ? I have seen advetisements from Total Performance Software, Inc. claiming theirs add +22hp to a 348. I would like to hear from some sastified customers before spending the money to buy them. |
