a face, or at least a car helps identify with people out there.

a place to view all the users would be great.

Thanks Peter
That's why I started this posting. Not that I was unhappy with Rob's forum but rather so many profiles were incomplete.

I updated my profile today. Now that my car is new and fresh, I thought I should freshen-up my profile picture. Enjoy!

Do you now understand why I started the " Lets`make a long list " So far it is the fastest place to find someone if they have been kind enoght to sing in. Regards Jorma ( 50 years now )

A common mistake with the profile is checking a field selects it not to be shown. Leave the check box empty to actually show the field.

I can probably copy the user list straight from my admin functions into a new page for all to see. Give me some time to work with it.

The parts info page is a frequent request, until I can write something more automated, I'll create a page soon with a form you can submit and then I'll manually put it on a page sorted by model.

I agree with Bret and Bill. I think that the long list posting that someone started was a good attempt in that direction but we could sure improve on that. BTW don't look at my profile because I am one of the offenders. I haven't done a thing on it. Maybe some cold winter evening I'll get motivated...

Did you click save information when you were done updating? If yes then it should work. You have to save it in the section that you update (save button right below information, save button right below picture, etc. Just clicking one button doesn't save the others too).

Rob,You may have opened "pandora's box" here by asking all of us what we would like to see on the site. It is very easy for us to say what we'd like while you do the work, (something I am very farmiliar with in my job.) Any way I have often wished there were some sort of page or something that listed simple spec items like what most guys use for spark plugs, filters, turn signal bulbs, ect. for all the various models. Additionally some sort of area for interchangable parts, like peter using 33mm volvo shims, brake pads, that type of thing. Members could go and input what they are using and others could use simply as a reference.
The discussion areas are fantastic -don't get me wrong- and are very insightful but sometimes it would be nice to just find a part number for a filter or fuel pump quickly without doing a keyword search.
I have no idea how feasable or practical that is to do and if it doesn't happen you still do a great job and this is a wonderful site for information and support.

Bret, I have found the need for that myself. Sometimes I want to email a guy who hasn't been on for some time and I try to find his chat line name to pull up his profile. It would save time if it's possible.

Yeah that's like the type of thing I'm talking about Bill. It could have the FC name, email, and car type on the page and the FC name would be a link to their profile. You getting all this Rob? Seriously though, you're doing a great job.

I'd like to see a page with a tabulated listing of owners and email addresses, searchable by F-car model and year. That way, if I have a question that is model/year specific, I know who to contact. Bill

How do I make my profile?
BretM (Bretm)
Posted on Friday, October 12, 2001 - 4:51 pm:

I kind of would like a page with just a list of everyone that is registered. It would only be one page, it could be fit under the Discussion menu on the side, and the names could easily be linked to the person's profile (as they are when they appear above a post). Sometimes I would like to email someone or just check out profiles, but then I have to go fumbling through the posts looking for that person. Just an idea...

Also, let me know, if you want to add new fields to the options.

I'm going to add "Other Cars" right now.

I find the ferrari chat a great source of info especially for a non-mechanic like myself.BUT when I find something interesting or contraversial I always click onto the name of the source and 75% of the time all there is ,is an E mail address. No profile details and no pics.
How about you frequent users update your profile? I think it would make the chat forum more fun.Comments?
