Yes, I had a great time at your shop. Everyone knew a great deal about cars and Ferrari in particular.

By the way, the most miles I have seen on a 550 is on a blue one in San Diego. He had 55,000 last Sept. He and his wife do long trips.

I think most owners should do the EvoSport thing. It was fun, interesting, and I learned alot. Thanks again.

Bart, glad you had fun at our dyno. A 550 on the dyno (especially with a Tubi) sounds awesome! I'll keep you posted on our track days- you should definitely come out! I think you win the award for most miles on a Ferrari in Southern California :-) But, I'm so glad you get to drive the car as it was meant to be driven.

Here is a pic of our Maranello on the dyno (same Titanium exterior as Bart's):

Also, here's an article in European Car written up on EvoSport's 550 and what has been done to it. Trust me, a simple spacer on this car is a BIG deal! Enjoy!

We'll be at booth #12 (I believe it's 12) at Concorso Italiano in a few weeks. If you come, please drop by to say hello!

Bart, good to hear everything worked out for you! I'm looking forward to getting my car on a dyno one of these days as well... you took my spot! :-) haha.. j/k.

Btw, now that you know how much "the beast" puts out, why don't you bring it out to run with Roland's F40LM on 8/17? It'll be yet another fun-filled afternoon with Ferrari Driving Club! :-)

Good show Bart!
At our last club "dyno day" the "high man" was a 550 owner with a 456 Tubi (!) installed. He made approximately 493hp at the crank (409hp at the wheels or 17% driveline loss).

EVOSport

I just returned from EVOSport in Huntington Beach. They put my lovely beast on a dynameters.

Watching my car as the driver took it up to the redline is weird. The car was 6 feet in the air and I was watching the rear wheel at eye level. It started to spin and than became a blur. The straps which were holding it back strained. It was the first time I had heard my car from the outside. Neat.

Here are the results. They tell me the horsepower and torque is measure at the wheels. The guy said that I had a very strong engine and the hp at the flywheel was about 504 to 506 hp. Yipes. That is more than quoted by Ferrari. They guys told me my car had very good torque.

Bob, the father of one of the owners, had brought his silver 550 to show me what can be done to a Maranello. I have never parked my silver 550 next to another silver 550. It is strange feeling looking at two cars alike. He had the side lights painted to match the car, the wheels pushed out about 30 cm, and had a Tubi exhaust system. Other than that, he said there is not much one can do to a 550.
