Thanks everybody! Don't want DOT or R compound tires. They are fine for my BMW Club Racer but are not really a street tire nor a real race tire. The 355 Challenge is nearly 2 seconds per lap slower on Hoosiers. I am going to call BobWoodman tires tomorrow and order a set and see how they work. The Yoko's are about $400 cheaper than a full set of Pirellis ($1000 vs. $1400). I know a bunch of Porsche guys that use them and some love em' but the two of my friends who race Porsche GT3R's are pretty close to professional level talent didn't like them because they couldn't get them set up right with tire pressures. Hubert, I know all the Porsche folks love the Michelin's but they are still a DOT tire and can not match a true race slick. Will let you all know what I think of the Yoko's when I get back from the Glen at the end of the month. Regards, Jon |

John: I saw a guy using the yoko slicks (not ao32r's) at laguna seca, and he was flying... could have been that they were on a GT 2, but that's beside the point. I can't help you further with those, but you should give these guys a shout : http://www.bobwoodmantires.com/Yokohama.html and you might also wnat to make a post on the www.corner-carvers.com forum, and the OTC forum (as some of the S2000 guys that ran the OTC challenege used yoko slicks): http://otc.s2ki.com/forums/ Altohugh, have you considered the michelin pilot sport cups? Those I do have setup info on; it's still a DOT tire, though. -hubert |

I am guessing because they are not true slicks.

Sorry, I can't help with Yokohama slicks, but why do you hate Hoosier's on a Challenge Car?? |

Pirelli's too expensive for 2 days of life, Dunlops out of stock in my size, hate Hoosiers on a Challenge car (R compound). Any one here use Yokohama race slicks at the track and if so what was your experience with them (i.e. tire pressure setup, grip, last, predictability, ...) Regards, Jon P.
