Now having 3K miles on my wife's Turbo Cayenne I can say this is the BEST 5 person veh. I've ever driven. It's a lot of engineering for 100K. I'm seeing the quattro on fri night. I'll report. Best |

Norman: Almost EVERY "introductory" new car is "pre-sold" in numbers.....sold to people who want to be first on their block. Remember the Z8, T-bird, even the Mini, etc, etc.......now where are these car's value? Look at those that first bought the Maserati coupe and convertible.......they paid sticker......now dealers are offering them for $20K off......used ones are even another $20K less. Would you pay that kind of money to be first on the block? I sure wouldn't!!!!!!! Haven't you guys learned ANYTHING???????? |

I hope Henryk is right so I can buy my Quattroporte at a discount!!! Seriously though, I think the car is gorgeous. My dealer is pretty excited about it, and I understand many dealers have presold quite a few cars. Don't underestimate this beauty. The interior is gorgeous and uses materials head and shoulders above its German and British competition. The Q-porte is going to be a viable and competitive alternative to the typical luxury sedans. |

Look at all the ads of dealers still trying to sell new "2002" Maseratis. With the Quattraporte coming, they will just have that many more cars on the lot to sell. I would bet that ALL the Ferrari dealers are hoping that the Quattraporte will go somewhere else!!!!!! Just wait and see!!!!!! |

Will, Don't hold your breath on finding one for that figure. I think you can expect to see them at better than $105K when equipped quite nicely. I saw Cambio Corsa Coupes sell for over $100K so I believe the Quattroporte will go for quite a bit higher. Oh, btw, I sold new Maseratis and Ferraris so I believe I know a little of what I am talking about. |

The latest Car and Driver sets a US price of $80k, the lowest I've seen. Can this be correct? |

Center console is a little "80s benz" but I like the dash and steering wheel. Car's exterior keeps looking better and better! The 3 polished circles are sex! It should have a 5.75litre V12 though Best! Ben. |

The side, rear, and 3/4 profiles all look great to me, just don't think the headlights and wings go with the Grill and bonnet

Also from the C&D writeup - Maserati is claiming that the cambiocorsa in the QP is much smoother than initial versions. Not many details beyond this. The default mode will be automatic. I am skeptical, but it should theoretically be possible to make the system a real alternative to a regular automatic (if maser knows what they are doing). My personal experience with the cambiocorsa has improved with recent software upgrades from my dealer. But it is still a long way off from MB-type auto smoothness. A push button for reverse would be nice too. Personally, I think the car (in a dark color) compares favorably to MB, BMW, Jaguar, Audi. Anyway, I will wait until I see and drive the thing in person before making any judgement...

That "auto" setting better be a lot less jerky than the auto setting on my 360 and much smoother at parrallel parking. I am sure there are some manual tranny folks who will buy it ala the M5 ( but at a much lower price) but all I am saying is they are severly limiting their market potential without a true torque converter tranny for no apparant advantage. |

it has an automatic gear box, and if you want, there is a small switch to change in to the cambio corsa. greetings, vincent |

If the reports are true that it will only be offered with a F1 type Cambio corsa that would be a BIG mistake. Seems to me that folks in the 100K sedan class expect a smooooth auto tranny and I can't believe they can make the F1 smooth enough in even a default auto mode plus a 70-100k mile trouble free clutch. They need to offer an auto tranny also. It looks pretty nice though. |

saw it in reality in previeuw last week in Modena. It is beautiful, it is Italian. Everybody around is driving Mercedes S or BMW 7, but this is for Italian lovers.... it is Pininfarina design. You have a lot of space inside. Mobile and GPS, electric seats on the back are standard, sunroof + DVD and 19' wheels will be options. I love the car, but always the same, you love it or you don't, each his opinion |

I rather liked the C&D pics. Didn't fall out of my seat in love with them, but certinly it out looks the new S class and the current 7 (thought not the e38! The shape IMHO requires no appologies. Best! Ben. |

Like I've said before (and you can thank Bangel , et. al.), designers are now focused on producing shapes v. lines; that's where the disconnect is between a classic design, and a contemporary fad (i.e., nearly every new car made today.) |

Styling also looks very pretty in the mockup I saw. It showed two different light treatments...I liked one better than the other, which was the intent of the exercise, but both looked good to me. Is it different in the pics from the previous versions we have seen? As for reliability, things have come a long way, so we can be a little optimistic. I have no reservations about comfort and performance...I am sure they will be good. |

just saw official fotos in car driver. article starts by saying cant judge its looks in pix, must see in person, etc why should an italian car designed by pininfarina need styling apologies before its even produced? the style should be universally gorgeous in all phases, lighting, colors,... this will be another bust for home team as reliability, comfort, performance will likely come up short compared to its competition so style was only hope. interior looks good though |
