Frank, your Mona Lisa statement is funny, but missing the point: Ferrari or better yet Pininfarina improved the design of the 308 in the 328 and GTO. To some degree, that is what Koenig & Co. are doing and why some 308 folks (like myself) go the same route.

Having said this, the GTO mirrors are a bit out of place on this otherwise beautiful silver 308. Their purpose was to look over the widened flanks of the 288, form follows function. But then again, I'm sitting in the glass house myself, so I won't throw the first stone.

Point was that these are old cars and the styles of the kits are cool and kitsch, but still pretty out dated style wise. If Koenig where to do a new kit for the 308 I doubt it would look much like it did when they first designed it, 20+ years ago.

L. the way I understand this is, that your replace the front spoiler and grille from your 328 with the parts offered from Berlinetta. Since the 328 is very similar to the 308 you should be able to attach a 288 GTO replica spoiler and grille or a 308 Euro spoiler and grille to the 328. I haven't tried that, but I think that's the rationale behind it. You're right, there is no per se 328 Euro spoiler, but the 308 one should do the trick. I suggest you're best off simply calling Berlinetta. I talked to them before, they're very savvy and friendly.

Andreas those are for 308s, 328s spoiler and the whole fog lights, markers, etc is way different from the 308. They sell gto or euro spoilers for 308, but they dont sell gto or euro 308 looking spoilers for 328. Do you think that Im wrong? If I am then let me know because I dont see anything like this in their website, if they do then I'll be buying one soon. What I mean is a 308 or GTO looking spoiler for a 328.

Chris, good question, I was wondering myself.

I think his point was, that the 308 series is no longer manufactured. However I discount that as an argument, after all it was the Ferrari they made the most of, so the market is still there. However all this add-ons are hot when the cars are new and people normally loose interest in them after a few years, that's probably why they stopped making them. But yes, the reasons are not as obvious to me either.

They do indeed have the Euro wing and a GTO replica front wing. Unless they just run out of them (talked to them last time a few months ago), they should have them.

Alot of these widebody conversions look good. It's the rear spoiler that has to go.

My 2 cents!

Andreas berlinetta motorcars have euro lightweight 328 bumpers but they dont offer an aggresive front spoiler like the one for the 288gto or the euro front spoiler for the 308 look for a 328

Koenig 308. Look at the gap above the front wheels! Lowering doesn't seem to be an option with a front spoiler this deep.

Sheesh, why did they copy the ugliest part from the Zender collection? I mean I love wings (duh!), but this one? Why couldn't they make some molds of those side rims or the frong wing, sigh.

Oh and btw Koenig didn't just do cosmetics on this car, it actually does need that wing (unlike my poseur car):

450 HP turbo
530 Nm torque
0-60 in 4.5
top speed 305 km/h

has racing brakes, racing suspension, racing exhaust, racing clutch

Looks familiar. I actually got the Koenig catalogue from that time along with a video in which you see exactly this car in action. It is driving in parallel with the Koenig Competition and a Koenig 512BBi on a racetrack, shot from a low flying helicopter hovering above the trio. Add rock music to that and you're in heaven!

Don't like the mirrors, but that's about all I can complain about. That rear wing looks awfully familiar...

Thanks Bert. The Italian book about Elephants has 10 pages, 9 of which with pictures. The German book on Elephants is a 12 volume encyclopedia entitled "Elephants - An Introduction".
:-)

Alan, I think I looked into Garedcars.com and talked to the guy, but he was the one who just sold the last kit a couple of months before I called. So I think that fountain dried up.

Well, I'm sorry to all the German readers. I know that to mention "the German book on Humor is only 1 page" is an old joke.
Zender: They are a very reputed tuning firm in Germany with good quality parts and they used to be an Alfa Romeo dealer and Ferrari dealer, maybe still are, don't know.
Perhaps they copied and modified their GTO set from this car:

Another one.
Search for 308 on mobile.de
Today no many freak results, but sometimes: yellow koenig kits, freaky zender stuff, etc...
In the US you like power, in Germany they like styling (Teutonian style that is, once saw a yellow Daytona replica with "Deutsche SchnellPost" on it, the German Postmen use yellow cars, the Germans literally lay on the floor laughing, weird to observe this as a cool Dutchy)

Hijacking the thread just a little bit:

Converting a 328 into a faux GTO has plus and minus: You loose the 308 style toggle switches, but you win on the red faced instrumentation and its location. In that regard the 328 is a lot closer than the 308. I find that interesting how Ferrari went retro with the switches and forward with the instrumentation from the 328. What a mixed breed. And of course the engine from the 348 or so (not displacement wise, but mounting position and looks, sans turbos)...

The GTO body is definitely beautiful. I just lack the necessary "attachments" to convert my 328 into a "faux" 288.

Can't comment on the brake lines, but when it comes to the tiny niche market of GTO replica parts, well they're pricey, but within the market. Compare their stuff to the guys from AZ and it costs about the same (although the kits are slightly different). Needless to say, that the parts are way overpriced for what they are, but that's a different story. If you've got the monopoly...

A little off topic, but I just looked at the berlinetta motorcars site. They want $440 for a set of four stainless braided teflon brake lines! Yeow -- about 4 times what it cost me to get a set from Goodridge. So you might want to compare their prices on other things you might be considering buying from them.

Since the 328 has almost the same body as the 308 you can actually extend your search a bit. However I (as a 308 owner) had the same idea and was searching in the US as in Europe, but to no avail. All the kits (which did exist at some time) are basically gone. I missed one of the last ones on sale in the US by a couple of months.

Anyway, if you find something, let us know here. Good luck!

I know you can get body kits and spoilers for 348s and 355s but what about the 328.
