btw, I want to recommend the guys at Grand Prix Motors in Campbell, CA, at least for Dino repair. Juan and co really know their stuff and have worked on Dino's many times over the years it seems. I have no problem trusting what he says, he talks from hands on experience and without hesitation.

There seems to be also another good mechanic across the 17 (forget his name at the moment) but he had lots of high end F's in his garage too.

Thomas, thanks for reminding me about the dino register. You're right... apparently there were lots of colors for these cars.

Aside from a water pump disintegrating upon the 1st 500 miles under my watch, the car is now, once again, running as smooth as can be.

The radio doesn't work, but somehow I never find myself reaching for it, instead driving this car becomes an all consuming sort of activity, in a good way. You don't think about work or other worldly cares, just the current status of engine indicators, sound of the engine, rush of air into the car, the look of the fender flares as you scan the road ahead, checking out the cool reflection of the receding lane markers in the curved glass behind you... if there is a temple to worship driving, this car is a place of worship.

p.s.
When that tach says 7000 rpm, is it really 7k? It feels so effortless, no feeling of any strain in the engine?!

Tony, congrats! Have one myself and love it! Enjoy and take good care of it. There's nothing like the Dino!

Oh, I don't know about that - Word on the streets is that the Dino had the broadest range of color choices, many of which had neither been seen before nor since. (Googles...)

http://www.dinoregister.com/production.html

Scroll halfway down to "Colors" just past "1974" section to see the slew of standard choices. Note there was actually an unlimited palette to choose from.

Obviously your Dino is so nice I had to come back and look again.

I don't think the color is an official F color. We checked a color book from those days and it was close to, but not matching any of the colors exactly.

But the paint is everywhere, as if it was the original color, or else it is one thorough repaint.

Just to add to the theme here...

My 260E is sorely outclassed by my 348 Challenge!

Very nice indeed. Dino looks like brand new car as mirror effect on the surface.

Very cute kids, too. My kids declined to be in pictures with my 328 when I posted. Well, there were not much space, too, in my garage. I bet mine is more cluttered than Ken's.

BTW, nice garage door, too.

You guys all have such clean garages! My yard tools are all on the walls, my car tools piled on shelves...yours is neater than my son's bedroom.

Nice Dino too!!

I kinda expected it, but you be the judge!
The former is faster, the latter is far more beautiful.

p.s. sorry for the low res.
