Jim, She is sweet and understanding about my obsession. One thing that buged me about her is that Bill smokes in his 456. And asked Michelle if she would like a smoke while in it. Of corse my cancer loving girlfriend accepted his offer. And smoked in his Ferrari!! I am taking her to confesion this Sunday.

Actually, its a November 75 production and the block is the same as the Daytona, everything else is a little different (cams, side draft vs. down draft carbs, etc...), but who cares. Glad you enjoyed it. You're welcome to drive it any time.

I can't believe your girlfriend made the trip with you! I can barely talk my wife into going to dinner in my car.

Part 3 Dr Eriks 365 GT4 2+2

Read part 1 and 2 first

I cant believe how stunning this car is!! I spouted to my girlfriend Michelle as Erik pulled up in his vintage 1972 365 GT4 2+2. I had never seen this car in person and can now tell you that pictures do not do it justice. Michelle turned to me and said, This is the most beautiful car today.

We spoke to Erik briefly and then followed him to his house. At Eriks house we saw his extensive collection of Ferrari memorabilia. All very impressive. But then we went to his red and yellow striped garage and gazed at his most impressive item of all the 365 GT4.

Michelle smiled for she could ride with us in this one. She climbed in back while I sat up front with Erik. Erik then turned the key awaking the 340hp V-12. We were off! The one thing I noticed with this car was how different it was to the 308. The sound, seating position, everything felt different. There was something else I noticed when Erik finally found a straight road. This thing is fast!! I mean it feels like the hand of GOD is pushing you! It was amazing!

As Erik drove the car I wondered how many people were as lucky as I was to ride in a car like this. After all only about 500 were made. Hell it had the same engine as the Daytona. But still like the 308 I wondered if I could get any luckier.

I COULD! Erik slowed down stopped on the side of the road and handed me the keys. I took them slowly out of his hand with a grin on my face so cheesy I had to look like I was 5. I pushed the heavy clutch down and started the V-12. I then slowly let off the clutch and was off. The first thing I noticed about the car was how civilized it was. You always here about how older cars are too hard to drive. Besides the heavy clutch I could have driven back to Kansas (In fact I asked Erik if I could (lol)). But the best part about it was the engine. Its sound and power were astonishing. Especially when you realize that it was built 6 years before I was born.

On the way back to Eriks house we passed a bicycle road race. Erik told me to lay on the right pedal and pass the bikers. Again not wanting to disappoint my host I touched it to the floor. WOW THE POWER. I believe we gave those bikers something to talk about after there race.

Back at Eriks house we thanked him and went on are way back to Kansas. The whole way back all I could think about was the Ferraris and the gentlemen who let me drive them. How lucky was I!!
