I'm seem to remember Rolex doing a ceremonial steamrollering of all the fakes they can find quite regularly...

I like it because it looks cool and probably is fun to drive. But it's not real...my 72 Lotus Europa costs 1/10 what this car does and looks cool and is fun to drive, and is a real car. I'll keep what I have.

The zz top ferrari it is not a real gto converted, it was some other ferrari converted to look like a gto convertible, and to top it off Ferrari never did convertibles of the GTO nor 288GTO like some ive seen already, disgusting...all replica kit cars should be banned. I dont know how come they never recalled the fieros with the 308 look the "mera". The "mera" word reminds me of the castilian word "mierda" wich means sh*t in english.

It sure ain't no Ferrari. Basically i think it is a stupid car. Wouldn't be caught dead in it.
It totally lacks the history that a real Ferrari 250GT of any kind have.

But it is of course second in stupidity if you compare it to Frank Beards (ZZ-Top) 250GTO Cab.
That looks nice enough, but it shouldn't been allowed to carry the Ferrari symbols. And definitively not the Scuderia signs on the sides.
Ferrari of course never built a GTO cab...

As far as replica cars go, this one is hard to beat. Been around for years. I've talked to the guys who own the company. The idea was not to be an exact replica of a 250 Spyder, but to take design clues from it and design a new, retro-styled Italianesque roadster. Personally, I think they did an excellent job. Still like my 308 better, but think this would be a great car as an everyday run-about. Besides, I'm not going to go spend a million on the real thing. Now that I own a Ferrari, I spend less time looking down on other cars and more time appreciating the unique qualities of each one. To each his own.

I have always thought the Cali Spyder was the second most beautiful Ferrari ever constructed....right behind the 288. 250 comes in 3rd.

Excellent eye DJ..

I'm pretty sure it's that replica with the Ford running gear. Nice kit on a tube chassis.

Another observation. Why would someone park a 2-4 million dollar car and just park it anywhere unattended.

Very similar with a car which was on e-bay in June 01. Car from the movie "FERRIS BEUHLERS DAY-OFF". Motor was Ford 302. ???
It's a replic of a 250 GT California

The windshield kind of looks like a 70's era Corvette to me.

It might not be an accurate replica, but it's still quite pretty.

Greg
I was wondering the same thing. The shopping area I took pic in has no real ritzy stores. The plates were from PA and the pic is taken in Southern CT. It looked pretty nice though..

The car is a poor replica of a 250 California spyder - wheels have too many spokes, wrong front bumper, wrong wing mirror, wrong screen, bonnet and front wrong shapes - could go on forever

It doesn't match the picture of the '61 SWB Spyder I have.
The side mirror on the '61 is mounted forward on the fender and hood scoop is trimmed in chrome.
No driving lights in the grill.

HA!!! And you thought there were going to be boobies in here...lol. Anyway I took this pic a couple of weeks ago and I know that just looking at a picture no one can tell if it's authentic but what model and year is it suppose to be?
