Good call about cleaning the windshield Charles, I have fairly nimble hands and I can't even get in there, gonna have to pick one of them up this weekend.

I lost mine back in May or June when the tropical storms hit Houston. I realized early on that wipers on a Ferrari were not necessary. The water just streams off the glass at 70-80 mph. But I don't like driving mine in the rain since I've got to plug some leaks around the front window.

Went on my first real "road trip" in my 328 this past weekend. Drove up into the mountians to Ashville North Carolina. Had some rain and even some fog on the top of Mt. Pisgah(?). I enjoy changable weather. The Ferrari took everthing in stride. Monday afternoon I cleaned it back up.

Everthing worked great, including my new Bridgstone S 03's. By the way, I have finaly found something that will clean the windshield in the area in front of the instrument shroud. It is called a "dish mop". I got it at the grocery store. It looks like a small cotten mop with a wire handel. My hands are too big to get in there.

When the weather is inclement I just envelope the car with a factory authorized condom and just drive it.(Ferrari condom, large size has cut out for windshield and exhaust pipes!)

My concern all this time, is the black paint spots-up like crazy if water should sit on it. So after the wet drive yesterday, I spent a good 45min. drying the car with the chamois.

Today was a better, sunny day. Took some photos at a local park, enjoy!

Around these parts (Bay Area, CA) we just have alot of (clueless) drivers. So much so, that the state troopers have documented the fact that when it rains (even a little) the accident rate goes up (IIRC) %500. That's why I try not to drive in the wet...seems no one else knows how to deal with driving+moisture properly.

I just don't think I could get used to taking my car out in the rain on purpose. If I get caught in the rain o.k. thats different. Besides I like to keep my car clean and getting caught in the rain pigs it up right away.

I drive in the rain all the time. That's why windshield wipers were invented. The only reason I don't drive in the snow is because of the salt used on the roads, not because I am afraid of a Ferrari in the snow. Bridgestone Blizzaks keep my 911 going all winter, and I assume they could do the same for the Dino.

Was in St. Moritz for spring skiing this year, and saw a few Ferraris driving around with snow tires in the middle of a blizzard. Apparently not uncommon in Europe.

They don't stop F1 for a little rain, do they?

Yeah I wind up driving in the rain all the time. If it's raining when I leave I take the jeep cause it's a little better than the 308 (note to owners, don't open window if water has puddled on top, when you go around a turn you'll be rudely awakened that you've created the means for Ferrari waterfall). At Old Westbury it was raining at the end and there were like 30 Ferraris out in it. I could see not driving a 250GTO in the rain, but anything from a 308 and newer, big deal.

Dilly, It really isn't a big deal. We car nuts use that expression from time to time.

I have never understand the idea of not driving a car in the rain. As long as you maintain your car what is the difference? You wash your car, don't you???? My husband and I have had a number of award winning cars and everyone of them have been driven in the rain - some on the way home from the dealership! Remember, Ferrari's were made to be driven.

I lost mine one night while visiting my cousin about 45 minits from my house. The same thing with me. First it just starts to rain a little then starts to pour! The car did great. Wipers worked, tires were good it the rain and best of all it didn't leak. The thing of it is a week later the exact same thing happened. I leave his house it starts to sprinkle then it starts to pour. Two times is o.k but I hope it does not get to three.

After not driving the car all week, I was looking forward to a nice drive on Saturday. I naively believe the forecast of promised sunshine after morning clouds. I had some errands to do in Vancouver, so rolled the car out to overcast skies.

As many will say here that they don't drive their cars in the rain, myself admitting to that, half-way into my drive it rains... then it pours!

Guess what? These cars aren't made of sugar and it didn't melt (but they sure are sweet) and it took it in stride. Wipers did their job of keeping the windshield clear and the Pirelli P4000's did a good job sticking to the road (for the bonehead cutting in front of me on the highway, but not seeing the line-up of cars ahead!).

They say Sunday is supposed to be sunny, yeah, I'm ready...
