Berlinetta Motorcars if Im right does the biturbo job, however the will mount the motor in a longitudinal like in the 288GTO, there is no way around it if you want a biturbo motorcar. The cost is around $45,000 or something around there. They also have 288GTO styled body panels, not to expensive and pretty lightweight. For 288GTO body conversion there is also italianauto.com they sell the body panels and do the conversion, also they do the longitudinal motor biturbo I think for the same as belinetta motorcars. The 288GTO conversion could be around $25,000 plus. They also do GTO evoluzione body conversions but these are a little more expensive, but Im not sure because they had those molds for sale. Also I dont think they do wheelbase stretching to make the car look closer to a 288GTO. None of this conversions will make a 308 100% look like a 288GTO. Look at the pics and you will see that the car lines do not follow the same, in other words I can tell a real from a conversion in a heartbeat, unless it was stretch and fit with real factory panels or Norwood who I think did molds out of his original 308 with a factory GTO body panels that he bought. Also the wheels are hard to get, but I think you can get them maybe thru the factory by saying that you own a 288GTO and paying the nice bill. The HRE you see around might make it look good but they dont look much like the originals.

Andreas, that was indeed meant to be a compliment. I don't personally care for wings, but yours is the nicest, most tasteful I've seen on our body style. |

Thanks for the info, Jim. The twin turbo upgrade costs $25k-ish, right? I thought I've read that elsewhere... |

Ok, the Norwoods as it exists today isn't doing any more GTO conversions. That was something that Bob did, and Bob is out doing other things at the moment. The Norwood facility will still build you a twin turbo monster Testarossa though. It comes in 3 stages and over 800rwhp is not uncommon. They're just finishing up another one and it should be back to his owner shortly. The Carmack Testarossa is sitting in their shop and is for sale. 0 compression on one of the cylinders though. |

Mike, assuming that was a compliment, thanks. I heard it called quite different things, but that's ok. I got the idea a few years ago, when I went to Cavallino at the Breakers in FL:
Immediately fell in love with this wing and how it doubles the curves of the rear. Would love to have that lower rear bumper as well, reminds me of the F40 or the Evoluzione. Anybody else ever seen this particular car?

Andreas, you have the most "tasteful" wing I've ever seen on a 308/328 car.

So does anyone know the cost of the conversion itself (w/stretch and t-turbo)?...

Marvin, it is the Carmack car, but isn't carbon fiber. It does have a billet aluminum block, 456 heads, etc., etc. You can probably find pictures of the engine if you search the archives. Try Norwood Dyno Day as a search phrase. |

Geez Luise, I'm a rear wing fetishist, but that thing is way overdone. Love the rest though, very cool. |

I found that black one earlier on the board. Gorgeous in black, don't like that wing. One done in carbon fiber, without paint - like that one Pagani Zonda - would be incredible! BTW, Bert, you're a soldier for modifying your own! Are you a mechanic by trade, or a hobby? Will you get a turbo put on the engine after? I think in the long run, I'd get a stretched one. There's an unstretched one @ ferrariclassified.com for $54k, just look for the 308 GTB for $50k+ . |

It's not a Norwood, but maybe also good enough: http://www.ferraris-online.com/cars/34555/34555a.html |

They have one in there now that has been there 9 years. Are you in hurry? The one that's there is VERY customized though. I'm sure the time required depends on a lot of things. Do you want the wheelbase stretched? That takes longer. |

I assume you mean 308 to 288 conversions. I think post converted cars typically sell for somewhere in the 70 - 90K range |

Does anyone know? Generally? Specifically? How long does it take? (As a newbie to the board, I did 'search' for this but couldn't find it) |
