Congrats Steve, you looked perfect in your 275 today. You are very lucky. I have to admit I thought it looked very good in my driveway today! mmmmmmmmm a 275GTB or a 550? very nice! Chris

You're my new hero! The 275GTB IMHO is the ultimate street Ferrari from the 60's. Truly gorgeous. Congrats on the restoration.

So, this was it. After months of restoration, contracts, new insurance and trips to NY I finally got to spend my first day with the 275. The truck arrived about 9am this morning and off she came.

Of course, John Karr got his 360 Spyder first (he's such a child), but then it was my turn. Now keep in mind that I have about 5 minutes worth of driving experience in 275's and about an hour in Chris Parr's Daytona, so my "vintage" Ferrari experience was, shall we say, limited.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I am thrilled. The car runs Strong! It's light in feel, but that 6 carb. Columbo V-12 knows how to scream. Much easier in the parking lot than a Daytona.

So, after Chris Hill gave it another once over, (and a new battery) off we went. Of course Chris had to instruct me on how to start the thing. It is very strange for a kid who grew up with fuel injection to hold the throttle in on startup. But after a few trys I figured out that hot starts were no big thing.

Probably drove about 60-70 miles today. Don't really know because everything is in kilometers. I just kinda went with the crowd (and passed a few of them :-) ).

I read somewhere that the perfect Ferrari ownership experience would be to have a new and a vintage Ferrari. You experience all that is technologically wonderful about these modern masterpieces, while enjoying and respecting a vintage experience that is like a time capsule to the racing days of old. I highly recommend it.
