Alan, You are correct. They did paint some VWs like this. We used to have a VW franchise in West Chester, PA and we got two of the "Harlequin Golf" promotional vehicles after VW was finished with them. We bought them to use as service loaners and kept the color scheme as is. I imagine it must have made some customers opt for a cab instead. |

It looks like Peter Max got his hands on it. About 15-20 years ago,MTV had a contest where someone could win a Corvette from every year from 1953 to 1980-? whatever it was. Anyway, the guy that won was like a homeless guy or something,(musician?) And he ended up selling them all to the artist,Peter Max,who painted them all up similar to that, except, what it would look like if you were doing acid or 'shrooms or something,(so they tell me )Anyway,Hopefully,MTV doesn't do the same contest, except with Ferrari's from 1949 to present! |

As featured in both Autoweek and Road and Track. I'm looking at R&T October issue right now on page 21, featuring 3.0CSL. Here it is: bmw-online or (888)BMW-online. Don't phone numbers like that drive you crazy? When I told the Houston dealer I was coming over to shop in my Ferrari Art Car, they were stoked!! |

Hmm, I read the Beemer review (a friend of mine has a M3) and there was a brief note about them. It didn't sound as if they were already available. At least not the Warhol car. Anyway, will keep an eye on it. Even if it means, that I have to set a foot into a Beemer dealership, yikes! |

ALL the BMW art cars are being released thru the dealer boutiques over the next few years. I think four or five are out now, including the Warhol car. US $125.00 at a dealer near you. I think the BMW website has them for order as well. World's Fastest Art Car Ferrari #22127 ** ** As seen in Cavallino #133

Another nice job by photo shop. Reminds me of the Andy Warhol BMW M1 from the early eighties. Now in the BMW museum. |

I am not sure that "flamboyant" adequately describes this choice of colours.... Stands out, oh ya, big time! |

I got some flack for painting my Challenge Stradale but ultimately it is what I want and helps me express my "flamboyant" side. IIRC the paint cost $50k extra but I think it was worth every penny.

Have you or anyone you know custom painted their car. How do you think a non traditional color would look. How much do you think it would cost to do this type of paint job. |
