Jeff,

One of the Ferrari mechanics in Nothern Florida has 125k and over 100k on two different 308/328. These cars are to be driven :-)

The 1985 308GTS QV here is still a young 57k miles. The next 50k should be a blast :-)

Enjoy the Drive,

I am really happy to read this post. I just puchased my 1986 328GTS from a very nice guy who really drove his car a lot, but took care of the mechanicals, everything works. It had a lot of chips in the paint and the (black) seats are in good condition but a little faded. The car has 80K miles, but I got it for much less then $30,000 as he needed the garage room for an another car. I think if it had looked better it could have gone as high as 38-40, but the high milage is a big turnoff to most buyers I guess.

I hope to slowly work out the cosmetic issues and maybe rebuilt and engine down the road if it needs it. But I thik I have years of Ferrari motoring ahead if I want it.

Sweet!! Nice to see Ferraris used as they were intended. That's how I'll use mine when I get one :-)

Nice! I just turned 47,000 on mine. I guess I have plenty of miles left. :-)

Mileage will depend on abuse(lack of maitenance) and how hard the engine was pushed. A ferrari motor should easily go 100k before any rebuilds are needed - according to a very competent engine builder here on Long Island.

Not that this is worth anything, but when we rented a 348 spider on our honeymoon in Hawaii, they had 2 348s there- the car we rented had 36k on it, but the other was more interesting- it had in the 90K range!

This is an interesting topic, as I was wondering how many miles a Ferrari (although my interest is in the 355) can go before requiring major motor work...

I had over 100K on my 1979 308 when I sold it. Never had any problems with it, just the usual stuff. 308 and 328's are great cars. I can't say I had the same experience with my TR.

Wonderful post! You should have put a warning label on the thread for garage queen owners to not look... :-)

Always said they like to be driven. I'd buy this car over any 2kmile garage queen TIWCE on sunday!

Best!
Ben.

Since we see alot of times people wondering how many miles you can get out of a Ferrari how's this;

I recently talked to a Ferrari guru mechanic who own's 4 Ferrari's, one a 328 that just turned 200,000 miles and runs and drives perfect, the engine and transmission have never been opened.

Hows that for Ferrari quality.
