My biggest concern would be how/what they attach to the wheels -- you might ask them beforehand if they have experience/methods to deal with (easily-damaged) painted wheels -- just a thought as a way to bring up the potential risk before they get in too deep... |

Craig, your comments confuse me as to why there would be something special in alignment. If the toe, camber and alignment are on factory spec, it sould be correct and fine, no? I don't know if Ferrari suspensions are any harder to adjust than Lotus or if there are any tricks, but I would *think* any competent mechanic could do it. Now, if the shocks and springs are off, that's a different issue. And track guys will not want a street set up, but for most of us wouldn't any pro be able to do it easily off the factory spec? |

I would think the biggest concern wouldn't be them having the specs but how to make a change properly when the car isn't within specs-- where to place the shims, what to adjust and how much to move without moving some interdependant adjustment. I saw the Car Guys on Speed channel last week working on a car that someone had changed the front suspension. Even though the alignment wasn't bad in the normal, at rest position, the geometry was very bad on jounce and rebound. |

I brought my 72 Europa with specs to a local guy with the computerized machine. Cost $50 and was the biggest performance boost for the buck you can do. It's just a car so get the specs from your shop manual (owner's manual?) and anyone with the machine can do it. Or, get the strings and protractor and do it yourself. For $50 though, i's not worth the effort. |

Go to someone who you know actually does Ferraris. They need to have the alignment specs for that car (year and model) in their aligment machine. |

For preventive maintenance, I am going to take the Mondial t in for an alignment. What type of place is generally best for this? Anything special that the car needs? How are dealers, exotic car places, chain discounters, alignment only shops? What generally works out the best? |
