Mule What you say about road salt/pebbles is way true. I'm amazed by the over salting. I think lexan fog lite covers might work well. Best |

Paul, Thank you for the offer, but for now, I am chalking it up to lesson learned. Certainly, no ill will towards the company, just that the product didn't meet my needs.

I have the 3m product on my 328, I would reccomend it over a bra, you can see the film but its not that noticable and it works. Bras are a PITA since you need to remove them for washing and they get periodic dirt in them that scratches the paint I hear you on the fog lights I had to replace one of mine, too bad you can't just get the lense instead of needing the whole unit, I sprayed some clear urethane on my lenses to help protect the tiny particles |

James, I do touch up the paint chips every now and then since the primer underneath is white. Honda Black seems to work well. That's why I bought the higher mileage car. Despite the reputation, Colorado Springs is "high desert" and lets me drive year round since there is very little snow. Rocks are worst in the spring, since the little amount of snow is over-compensated with by dumping 30 tons of rocks per mile of road. Okay, a little exaggeration. As far as the lights, I need to find something, preferably removable, since replacement is the only real fix, unlike paint. Maybe a Lexan cover of some sort. I have clear covers on my truck headlights, just like the smoked light covers, but clear. They attach by friction and a little velcro, but something like that would be perfect. Back to the original subject, I may go with the 3M tape instead of the bra cover, but the foglights are still vulnerable.

Mule I agree it's getting worse and clear taping fogs lights may be the way to go but another way to go is using the car and touching it up every fall. That's what I do. Another solution for fogs are plastic or wire clip on protectors as used on off road racers. How about making a lexan shield and screwing it over the fog lite assembly using the same screw holes? |

Paul, Honestly, I believe you had no problems with your Speed Lingerie products. I didn't, so lesson learned for me. When I ordered, I had mentioned that I belonged to FOC and FCA - no discount. No reply to my email after purchase describing the problems. James, I certainly dont mind rock chips or driving (46K miles). But, in Colorado, the rocks on the road that the city puts down grow bigger every year to keep the dust down. After breaking more than one fog light lens at $400, I was trying to save them, not the paint. The 3M or Griot's clear film don't work on the textured surface of the lens. You can see the "bullseye" chip in the lower right corner of the lens in the picture I posted below. That's number three.

I had had a speed lingerie bra on 2 Ferrari's. A TR and a 360. No problems with either at any speed. Mine stays on the car all the time unless it gets wet then I take it off until it it dry. I believe you can buy one for about $450; say you are a Ferrari Club Member. Any concerns call Karen Conroy direct, she is one of the owners and can be reached at 800-570-1579. Mention my name: Paul Bianco. She will remember me. |

OK, it sounded like a good idea but you have pursuaded me otherwise. What do you think about the clear shields for a newly painted 328? |

I agree with Patrick and Mule. Mine seems to fit well but at speed ( over 90 km) the top edge does flap and very fine abrasions do occur in the paint which take a lot of work to buff out. |

William, I bought one for my 1989 GTS, but had a few problems. This is the letter that I sent to Speed Lingerie (recieved no reply): 1. The quality is very good and the fit is spot on. 2. However, there are some points that I don't like. The cover flaps very loudly at speeds over 30 mph. At 120, it sounds like two flat tires and can be heard inside the car with the windows up. It flaps along the top edge above the turn signals where the body curves out for the wheel arches. 3. The fit is good, but it crooked around the turn signals. A little too low. The clips at the fender are aligned properly with the seams. I did have to create one slit on the driver's side for the body seam, which I had emailed you about when I bought it. 4. Along the top edge under the hood, the hood has a support bar running front to back. When the hood closes, this rubs the leather and is creating a tear about one inch below the clip, center of the cover under the hood. 5. At the bottom of the clips in the wheel wells, both sides are tearing away from the leather, about an inch each. 6. Since all Ferraris are very low, they all scrape. Without a cover, this is easily absorbed by the lower valance. Put any Ferrari on a lift and you will see scrapes. With the cover, if the car scrapes, the cover rubs the ground and tears since it goes all the way below the leading edge. 7. The fog lights have a textured surface. These rub the inside of the clear inserts and scratch them. This is also happening on the nose emblem. The cover has been taken off three times and reinstalled by myself and the Ferrari dealer, following the directions exactly. It is installed and aligned properly, but the above comments still occur. Three friends in the local club have Speed Lingerie covers, and have similar comments. (2 328's and 1 355). Overall, the cover looks great, but the small details are not in line with a $600 product. I don't want a refund or return, but I cannot recommend these covers to other Ferrari owners. It is still in good shape, and if you want it, I can sell it to you at a fair price.

If your talking about a black bra for the front, don't bother. It will scratch your paint and cause rust due to rocks getting under it and moisture getting trapped. |
