Main Street Station in Downtown really has a good buffet.

If you go to the east side of Vegas, try Sams Town (Boulder Hwy/Flamingo). They just expanded their casino, the buffet is new, and they have all you can eat steak night on Thursdays. Also on the east side is Sunset Station (Sunset Rd./Stephanie). I like their buffets as well. Sunset also has some good restaurants by their buffet.

I am wondering who services the rent a Ferraris and exotics locally in Vegas. I checked the yellow pages and did not find any authorized Ferrari service centers....only 1 or 2 independents...im guessing.

Bring a jacket, it's a getting just a tad bit chilly here! =)

I was an Army Officer commanding ammuniation depots in Korea. I became friends with a doctor in a near by compound (always wanted to run a MASH unit like in the movie and series). We decided that if the Army could get us to Korea, we would find a way to see the rest of the Orient. So we took off a month and took the circle tour of the Orient. Nice to travel with a doctor and his pharmacy.

While on the tour learned that the Japanese built sex resorts for its troops in other countries. Learned that some had been turned into commercial operations catering to whatever men wanted.

So Patrick and I decided we had to check it out. They had great massages like walking on your back, great food to include things like Bird's Nest Soup, Koba beef, etc. Plus anything else a man might want (do we ever want anything else - LOL). It was there that I fell in love with things like hot tubs.

It was designed for pure, maximum pleasure - a great place. A unique experience.

I enjoy good food, but I do not consider myself an expert on it.

Even though one goes to an area for something else, good food only increases the pleasure.

I enjoy both normal resturants and buffets for different reasons.

If in an area for a short period, I try to go to a place no more than a couple of times.

The Reo has been voted the best buffet in Vegas for something like the last 3 years. This to me makes it worth checking out.

I have eaten buffets in such places as the Homestead Resort in Virginia, New Orleans, across the US, Europe, Greece, Cairo, Kenya, Taiwan, a Japaneese sex resort built in WW II, Hawaii, Tahati, Malasia, etc. The two times I ate at the Reo was the best buffets I have ever eaten.

Hence the recommendation.

I disagree.

I was in Las Vegas for just under 6 months, eating every meal out. Figure under 180 days times 3 meals a day. A few meals.

I like Las Vegas.

I ate at the MGM and Venetian several times.

In Vegas, found many nice resturants where the price per person was $40 and above.

However, the Rio has been voted the Best in Vegas for something like three years in a row.

For under $20 a person, I consider it a bargin.

Dave and Erik, is Rio the only place you ate?? Because almost anywhere is better! Take it from a Vegas pro, there's better. (You know I'm just picking on you, hear me out....)

First off, the exotic car rental agency is www.dreamcarrentals.com.

If you're talking breakfast, I recommend the Orleans (behind the New York, New York) or the Main Street Station in the Fremont area. Both are worth the drive off the strip.

Lunch? Let's talk New York, New York, for resonable price and quick getaway. Especially if you're looking forward to spending the day driving that Ferrari you paid WAY TOO MUCH FOR to rent!!! (Especially since you have one at home, what were you thinking???) A fair priced buffet is Stratosphere for lunch, then take the trip to the top and ride the Big Shot, which will be an even bigger thrill than the Ferrari. (Yes, I know I will be blasted for that comment. : )

Dinner? I can't even go into that in the detail that it merits. On my last trip in July, Harrah's was the best buffet. But like they said, Rio is the largest. Either of Emeril's restaurants is a safe bet (MGM or Venetian). If you're in the Fremont area, try Binion's Ranch Steakhouse (which also offers single deck 21, if you're interested).

Mostly what you will learn on your trip is that the food is overrated because you'll spend so much time checking it out that you'll miss other things that are so much more appealing!! Pick two or three buffets/restaurants that you don't want to miss, make sure you get those into your schedule, and then do the rest of your meals as quickly as possible because there's too much else to do to waste your time on that!

P.S. Dave and Erik, I'm just being facetious because I am a HUGE fan of Vegas. Also, before you rip me apart, please be aware that this is the Mrs. speaking and not the guy that asks technical questions about the 308!!

P.P.S. If anyone is going to Vegas and wants my opinion on anything (ha!) please write. I have a detailed what-to-do description already put together for friends that have asked.

Yes, the Rio - could not remember the name without coffee.

Do not recommend eating there often or will not fit in a Ferrari.

All first class food. Best deal I found in Las Vegas.

Not currently in Las Vegas, but the first part of this year I was there for several months consulting for the Las Vegas Valley Water District.

Dream Car Rentials by the Holiday Inn around the middle of the Strip rents Ferraris and other exotics. It was there that I became reinterested in sports cars and interested in Ferraris. They have several models of ferraris to rent to include a Testarossa. They are a little pricy, but have some neat cars. If I can find where I put their price list, I will post it.

Las Vegas is also trying to position itself as the dinning capital of the world. There are many outstanding resturants there, although some are a little pricy but fun.

The Holiday Inn by Dream Car Rentials only has so-so food, but that have an unbelievable strawberry shortcake. Get about a pound of cake and strawberries for about $1.50. Scrimp cocktails are not too bad either. Rest can pass. It was convienent while looking at Ferraris.

The best buffet I found was the hotel on the western part of town - has the blue/purple bands going from the bottom to the top and out. Can not remember their name - on my first cup of coffee of the day. Should check it out.

Have fun, Dave wapinski
