I've called both Leland and Hagerty - Neither will insure a car that is being driven to work occassionally. What is the deal with that? I didn't buy the car to sit and stare at it. Any suggestions? |

Morrie call Hagerty back. A friend called them once and was told some crazy story about not being able to insure his car, he then called back and got a different person who gave him the policy. I have used them for years and they have been great. |

Grundy gave me the best rates. I've used Leland and American Collectors Ins. 800-338-4005 Agreed value, NO mileage limits and best of all they will write a stacked policy. |

I don't know if it made a difference on my Hagerty policy that I was insuring both my F328 and my Lambo Miura. I used to have Leland West and they have a competitive annual premium, however, their deductable was way higher than I was able to get with Hagerty. I also had more of a mileage constraint with Leland West. Gil |

I just posted a thread regarding the same issue last week. I have polled many companies (Chubb, Leland West, American Classic Cars, etc.) Leland gave me the best quote (by far) I am awaiting the paperwork. Good luck! |

I've been using Leyland West for two years now. Agreed value, annual mileage limited to 2500k. |

I'm curious because Hagerty told me it wouldn't insure my 87 328, afer earlier agreeing to insure a 78 308 that I had considered. Hagerty said it would only insure the "newer" 328 if it were part of a collection of older cars. |

Jerry, they are HRE 541's in chrome, 18" and I believe 8" in the front and 9.5" in the rear. With Pirelli P-Zeros. |

Anthony, I used to have my 87 328GTS as part of my regular insurance policy with all my other cars. However, I decided that an agreed value policy would be better if I ever had an accident. In that situation a standard policy will work their standard depreciation formulas and you would get very little back from them. With an agreed value policy you get better recognition of the value of an older exotic. After shopping for various agreed value policies, I ended up choosing Hagerty. I've also got my vintage Miura with Hagerty. Gil |

I have 4 regular cars insured with GEICO, but the premium they gave me to add 2 F-cars was very close to what Hagerty quoted me, and GEICO will not agree to an "agreed value" policy. Having paid 40k over MSRP for the 360 I didn't want to lose that much if some disaster struck. Been using Hagerty for 2 years now with no problems. An interesting feature they have is that upon renewal they will give you the option to up the "agreed value" (on my dino, not on the 360) by an additional $10,000 for some ridiculously low amount of money (I think it was about $100). They offer this option on older cars each renewal period. They were also cheaper than LelandWest and others, and were more lenient in where you can drive the car, and how many miles a year (I got 5,000 on each F-car). |

Tillman, I have State Farm too. I was curious about the value in having an agreed evaluation policy. |

Because I use my car as a daily driver, I use State Farm and have it insured as a normal vehicle. The premium is actually very close to the one for my truck |

There is a search feature on the bottom of the site to search previous threads. I just searched for the word insurance on the title of posts in the last 30 days and got a lot of good info. I got online quotes from : http://www.hagerty.com/ http://www.lelandwest.com/ I think I am going to go with Hagerty. Cheers!

For those of you with newer Ferrari's, I would imagine that you are insured with State Farm, Allstate or what not. My question is, for those of you with older Ferrari's, such as an 87' 328 GTS, would you go with an insurance company like Hagerty Classic Car Insurance or stick with say State Farm? I guess the only plus with Harerty is that they have agreed evaluation where State Farm does not. However, I get a multi car discount with State Farm, so, if I remove the Ferrari my other rates will rise. Any thought's or opinions would be appreciated. |
