Fangio only raced 1 season with Ferrari, rest of the time he was with MB or Maserati |

I do too Dr.Cosgrove. He deserves it. Ferrari deserves it. I just have a question though. MS has tied the world record with Fangio at 5 championships right? How many of Fangios championships were with Ferrari? |

a yellow flag means that you cannot pass once you pass that flag station because there is something going on on the road ahead. if 1 car began overtaking the other before the flag station he can go ahead & continue the pass as long as he is aware that there is something up ahead that requires his attention. It may not be safe to stop mid pass once you are committed at speed |

JPM lost his race in my opinion in his pitstop. Although he already know he had to go for the stop&Go he kept driving, coming in for his penalty (still on dry tyres) when he HAD to (within three laps). Would this have been done earlier the he didn't have to drive a complete lap in the pourring rain. That is why he couldn't catch Nick Heidfeld in my opinion! |

they had a few threads about this in the F1 section. but summed up they said that the yellow flag was for rubens spin in the 2nd turn but the nearest flag station was at the first turn. so really even if he passed at that turn it would still be legal. but as the case has it, he passed along the straight making it legal anyway. |

Mark yes he did need one more place but he was some 70 seconds behind Heidfeld at the end, his drive through cost him around 25 secs so he still wouldn't have made it, even if the fuel rig hadn;t have failed he still wouldn't have bee nclose enough so the thing that lst him the championship was Michelins lack of a decent intermediate tire |

JPM was given a stop-start penalty. Didn't JPM need one more points position to still be in the championship? I hate when race officials decide championships on slight racing mishaps. |

I cannot answer for Montoya's bump to Ruben. Those things happen and I was surprised to see that he got a penalty. As for MS, and as far as I understand, he passed the other car on the straightaway and right before turn 1 and the yellow flag. I could be wrong but that is what I understood. |

Yes, he was already a nose past on the straight. The flag only applies to the corner... -R edit: looks like several people already piped in before I hit the 'post message button'.. sorry for the repeat. |

There was some speculation that if he was passing on the strait, and the yellow flag was in the corner, it was a legal pass. Mansour Ojjeh of TAG/McLaren apparently commented that they noticed this as well and were debating filing a complaint. |

Ok, So i'm watching the race on Telly over the weekend & witness the "bump" that JPM caused to Rubens car, and for this, he was given a stop start penalty, then not long after, MS passes on the yellow flag been waved on turn 1, yet nothing ocmes of it. Did i miss something? |
