Update;

New lights are in, oil and filter done. Front spoiler got readjusted so cannot even see the break -- will get it fully repaired in Florida as it leaves in 3 weeks.

Redlined on the way home. All is well.

You got very lucky considering how low the Ferrari is. Two years ago in my BMW 325is I hit a truck retread on the road at 80 mph. It put the front chin spoiler a good ways back up into the car and punctured the radiator. Big puff of steam went out the back and only made it 2 miles to the gas station when the temp was up to dangerous levels. $2,800 damage paid by insurance, but it added a point because it's your fault even if it's a road hazard that's not supposed to be there. The hypo didn't like my excuse that I couldn't see it in the dark countryside going 80mph.

I have to admit I got off easy. For a split second, I thought about dented hood, blown out windshield etc. Amazing what the mind can process and remember in 1/2 a second. But when I got off easy, I must admit I thought about Lawrence and said "Boy, I got a little lucky today". Hope to see you back in a Ferrari soon Lawrence.

With today's roads and volume of traffic it seems virtually impossible not to get some road imprint on the car.Stone chips,little or big stone dents cracked windshields etc.
Drove from Sanibel,Fl to Portland ,Or and back and NYC to portland and back in a S4 and cracked windshield x 2 plus assortments of nicks and stuff.
Glad you are ok ,Michael.It's great you can get parts so quickly.I am waiting 9 mo for headlight assemblies!ETA next week??? Ha!

Michael,

Sorry for the "bad bump" in the day. Had a great time driving in the country today even if we couldnt get around that minivan-there is NO car more impressive from the rear than a TR. Glad you didnt get hurt and hope your car makes a speedy recovery

I was out driving today with a fellow Ferrari chatter who has a gorgeous 328. After lunch we zipped around a bit then headed home. Hit 100 MPH plus more than a few times. On my way home while going about 80 a car in another lane hit a large piece of rubber from a blown truck tire. I saw it coming but there was no where to go. It hit the front spoiler and the bottom of the car and exited rear. When I got home I found both park lights left and right cracked, a small crack in the front spoiler and large imprint of the tire across the spoiler. Must of been hit by two pieces of rubber.

That's my highlight for the day. The drive was great the car ran beautifully and at 110 it seemed at total peace with itself and me. Very cool.

BTW: Already talked to my mechanic and ordered the parts and should be back to normal by Tuesday. Then its time to drive again!! Darn I'll probably still drive tomorrow.
