A perfect car is one that can pull up to the start finish line and run at speed for 24 or one you can jump in and drive from NY to LA at speed with no problems. |

So is anyone keeping a perfect Yugo ? Realize that your perfect GTO is going to need a very expensive $$ total rebuild on that car. Think about those seals inside the Turbo and all the other junk that has seized since everything dried up. ouch.....

Andy, the only way that car is perfect is cosmetically. A car that is only cosmetically perfect is not a car that you would want to own and drive and if you wouldn't want to own and drive it, how can it be considered perfect? |

DES, I completely agree with you on that. It is a big difference seeing a car in "captivity" vs. out in "the wild". Only, I believe there needs to be at least ONE of any breed kept in perfect shape for history. That said, I bought my Mondial to be a driver. While shopping, I purposely passed on a few that had extremely low miles just because I didn't want to be conflicted over putting miles on mine. |

Andy, i respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement. Seriously, i hear what you're saying, but cars seem different than anything else... A dinosaur museum makes sense, since you can't use the dinosaur anymore... However, picture this... You go into a car museum and there's an old caddy here and 60's Mustang over there and then, in another room with perfect lighting, behind velvet ropes, there it is... a Ferrari 288GTO... You stop breathing, your heart rate increases, your eyes widen and you're just frozen in time... ...now multiply that experiences by 100 if the situation changes and you see the same car on the road... In a gas station or at some countryside burger joint... There is a certain happiness that's taken away from an animal once it's domesticated... Regardless of pulse or heartbeat or flesh or brainwaves, i truly believe the same thing applies to cars... They need to run free, in the wild. Just my $0.02. |

DES, I respectfully disagree. While I do think it's a crime to own a car like that and not drive it. I also am glad that there are a few pristine examples that will be kept. That car might be showroom perfect in another 100 years. Great for museums and the sort.... If I had one, I'd flog it every possible chance! |

Believe me, they're aware of the F50 ripoff. They even brought it up unprompted. Didn't have the camera with me to take shots of the cars. Sure wish I had! |

I wonder, how will the dealers act through the test drive requests after that theft. Andy, no pics to show us? |

Stopped by FoATL today while in town on business. Got to see: Two Enzos - man those things look better in person! A brand new 575 that was delivered this morning. A perfect 288 GTO with only delivery miles 2 F40's An F50 countless other gorgeous Ferraris, Maseratis and Aston's - including 2 Vanquishes. Even several 60's 275's and 330's. When we were walking through the shop, a tech was doing a PDI on a brand new Enzo. I was walking around under the car with him as he was removing the carbon fiber lower cover. He gave me a guided tour of the engine etc... Even got a nice look at the brakes and the three cooling ducts feeding each one. That car is beautiful, it must be a real treat to drive and own. DES, you should have been there.... |
