hi gian maria,

i'm excited to maybe be able to see and hear your car while i'm in maranello :-) it would be great to be able to see you at the factory the day you pick up your car. i'll bring my camera.

i just received my factory tour confirmation from ferrari for monday october 13 at 11:30AM. maybe ferrari is going to let us see the work they are doing on the 420 and then make us take some drugs to make us forget what we saw. LOL.

what time will you be at the factory to pick up your car?

you can email me directly at [email protected]

I am going to stay n Florence the week-end, I will tell you guys the hotel when I am there so we can get in touch in the track. But if you see an ugly guy with a Rosso S. hi gian maria and brian,

looks like a big party in the works at the finals in mugello :-) i'll be there also with a friend. his stradale is being made right now (mine is on order but the dealer has not submitted it to the factory yet). in fact, we'll be touring the factory on october 13 and hopefully we'll get to see his car on the assembly line :-) but it would be great to see your stradale at mugello. if it's not too much trouble please email me at [email protected] and let's see if we can figure out how and where to meet.

btw, i visited costantino at his shop in los angeles the other day. he gave me a tour and explained all the plans they have for making their shop the best. i think costantino will be at mugello also :-)

hey brian,

your profile says you have a 2004 stradale. is this correct? i'd love to hear what you think about it. maybe we can link up at mugello. email me at [email protected] if you'd like :-)

Hi Gian Maria,
I sent you a private message about meeting up at the Challenge finals in Mugello. Are you going to be around? If so, let me know, I'd love to see your new Stradale.
Will you be in/near Maranello on October 14th?

I do not understand why people compares the CS to the next generation 360..The next generation 360 may be more powerful, nicer looking but it will defenetly not have the racing heritage, pure sport car, handling , lateral gs ect.. of the stradale which is what CS buyers are looking for. And also is not sure there is going to be a next generation Stradale. There has not been a 348 or a 355 Stradale so maybe there will not be a 420 Strdale ( or whatever it is going to be called). So , from my point of view, if you are a pure sport car enthusiasts and you have the money , the Stradale is defenetly the car to own, forget about the next generation 360 , that one is not going to be as fun to drive as the Stradale.

In my opinion, the CS is a "mini-Enzo"... the brakes, the beautiful carbon fiber interior panels, lightweight, race modified F1 system, etc. I tried and failed to get one. But looking forward to driving a rental soon and experiencing it first hand...

i've been told by a friend who has a friend inside ferrari that the 360 replacement will not be nearly as aggressive a car as the stradale. i got the impression that the 360 replacement will be more like the regular 360 but with more HP, and it is unlikely that it will have the stripped down race interior, ceramic brakes and the radical exhaust sound of the stradale. my friend was advised that he should buy a 360 stradale and keep it because it is the best car ferrari has ever made (his words not mine) and there will only be a relatively small number produced.

i'm going to buy a 360 CS now and a 420 CS if/when ferrari makes them one day :-)

Well, I want to be on the list for the CS version of the 4.2L car also. But if it follows the pattern of the 360, that would be roughly 2010. I can go through a lot of tires in 6 years. :-)

You do have a point, though... the 4.2L engine seems to have great potential. But where will they go with the car? With they go lighter, or heavier? More luxurious, or more spartan? More Enzo-like or more 550-like?

Until I see it, my assumption is they can't do much better than the 360. But then, I find the 360 damned near perfect. :-) So, I've still got a year or two of no worries! :-)

While the CS has garnered huge admiration from the motoring press and those fortunate enough to get one (I'm not one of those), what happens in 2005-06 when the 360 replacement with the Maserati 4.2 block and an estimated 480 bhp hits the market?
Will this street car (easily tuneable for track) make all 360 variations (including the CS and the Challenge) instantly obsolete? Remember, the difference between the 355 and 360 was only 10 bhp and 200 lbs. in weight savings, so the 355's are still competitive (in the right hands) with the 360's. The 4.2 looks to be a much larger leap.

I think I'll wait for the CS version of the 4.2 car, which should be released sometime before I get my AARP card.
