Don't be surprised at the level of knowledge she has about Schumacher, as was posted earlier it sounds like she shows symptoms of Savant Syndrome (aka "Rain Man"). An acquaintance of mine has a brother with this, he can tell you what the Top40 countdown for music singles going back for over 40 years. Every week, every song, who sang it, wrote it, etc. Truly amazing. If she is a big fan of Ferrari racing, she can probably tell you what place Albero Ascari finished in every race in his career.
Very kind of you to spend so much time with her. She will probably talk about for years.

Great story. I have a 7 yo son with mild autism and can identify with the special abilities and difficulties you described. I would be glad to send her a picture, through you if you feel this is safest for her.

Things like that usually come to me when
I'm have "perspective" challenging days.
That'll always snap me right out of it.
Nice story. I have a similar one maybe one day I'll post it.
PS.........Yes DO see "THE CUBE" I loved it for some reason. They came out w/ another on "HYPERCUBE" but not as good as the original.

Wierd that a no name film could be done this well ,not Forest Gump/Saving Private Ryan but a very good movie.

fantastic story! im sure you have made someones life a lot more enjoyable! just as an FYI, Ben and james hit the nail on the head. an autistic person, which is what this girl was according to fanatic, has a "lopsided" range of talents so to speak. most that are afflicted with autism happen to have all of their natural talent focused on one particular skill. autism is a mysterious affliction if you can call it that. many with autism cannot brush their own teeth or tie their own shoes and certainly cannot cook... however they have a certain skill(s), usually of the mind or of the arts that they can do so well it defies modern science. one of the best pianists in the world can play a painstakingly complex bach concerto, close to eight minutes long, just from hearing a record of it ONCE. and get every note exactly on cue. this certain pianist is autistic. there are also autistic people that can hardly understand directions, however they can perform mindlblowingly difficult mathmatic equations in their head in a matter of seconds that would take a college level major in mathmatics over 20 minutes with a calculator to perform. it is very possible to say that this certain girl has her "skill" or talent focused on memory , or more specific memory of schumacher and everything about him. most likely anything and everything she has ever seen about him including pictures and videos are permanently embedded in her mind, and she would be able to run circles around most likely everyone on this board with her knowledge of him. if any of you have ever seen the sci fi movie "the cube," you will notice that the main character and the savior of all the others is autistic. by the way, if any of you enjoy vastly bizarre conspiracy movies, go rent "the cube."

Fantastic guys, BUT, being a realist, be very careful not to hand out the address to anyone as we would not want the young lady feeling stalked or threatened. Perhaps if we all sent our pictures to Fanatic and he sends them on our behalf it would be better.

Just my 2p worth.

But hats of to you man.

Okay, let me try and say this with description, but not get too long winded.

Last evening was beautiful!!!! The air was crip and the sun was shining. I decided to take my car out for a little country ride. I go down 70W for a little while, and I get on some country roads and decide to stop at a little mom and pop place called Mike and Rosa's.......I mean this place is TINY....little barn type building with a couple of picnic tables and a cooler full of cokes. Of course everybody stares as I pull up in a red Ferrari, but that's cool.....

I go inside to order, and in the corner is this very LARGE woman, looked to be about 50 and she was sitting with a girl, about 19 who was obviously "mentally challenged". I don't want to offend anyone, I'm just trying to paint a good mental picture....you know when you can just look at someone, and you know they are mentally handicaped...she was like that........maybe downs syndrome, maybe not....she could definately function, but well........you know.......
Anyway, as the younger girl gets up, she turns and I notice she is wearing a red T shirt with the words FERRARI across the front......( a really cheap knock off version of a real Ferrari shirt).....She looked at me, and smiled, as people do when your eyes meet, and my eyes lit up when I saw her shirt. I was just feeling friendly, and as I stated, she was "challenged" so I said " So you like Ferrari's huh....I'm glad you're a fan." She got really excited and started talking "a little incoherently about how much she loved Ferrari's"....her mom, being protective was kind of eyeing me.. but I gave her a reassuring look. I'm fairly young, and I'm not an imposing figure, so her mom just sat there. I said to the girl, I have a Ferrari outside, would you like to see it?....No kidding, the girl started to cry, and ran back to her mom......I was horrified, So I gently went over and said, to both of them, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything, I just thought she might like to see a real car........." Okay I'll try to shorten this up a bit..........to make a long story short. The girl had thought I was teasing her, so I took her mom and her outside, and the girl nearly fainted. No kidding. Nearly fainted. I let her sit in it, and showed her the engine, her mom warmed up a bit, and told me that her daughter had been obsessed with Ferrari since she was 5....her mother doesn't know where she got it from, but the girl (staty) had always loved and followed formula 1 racing and knew everything about it.........I WAS FLOORED.....I mean guys I was in HICK TOWN!! URBANA Ohio, and here I am with this mother and retarded girl, and the retarded girl was a Ferrari Fan.....So I look at stacy, and I say, Oh you like racing.......Then the flood gates opened.......I was "stuck" talking to her for 45 minutes......GUYS, SHE KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT MICHAEL SCHUMACHER!!!! I mean everything!! Stats, races, wins, losses, height, weight, eating habits, training regimen...EVERYTHING!! I was floored.....couldn't believe it. Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera, and there was NOWHERE nearby, or else I would have bought a disposable....I have this girls name and address. I am gonna stick a couple of photographs in and envelope, just invest 35 cents and mail her a couple pictures......the chance of this girl ever seeing a real ferrari again, is slim and none, and the chance of her ever having real pictures of one is even slimmer.......

I don't know her, and I'll never see her again. I'm not comfortable putting her address out here, but please feel free to Private Mail me and I'll give it to you.........here's what I propose, We all took 3 rolls of film of our cars......if you have some old pictures in the kitchen junk drawer, drop them in an evelope and mail them to this girl.......wouldn't that be cool, for her to get mail, with pictures of real cars.........I have her address, I wouldn't recomend putting a return address on your envelope, I'm just sending 2 pictures, with a little note, "Glad to meet a fan".......no return address, no last name......anyway, wouldn't it be cool to send this girl pictures of real ferrari's from all over the United States.......I just think it'd be awesome!!!
Nothing fancy, takes no time, put 1 or 2 pictures in an evelope, and just put it in your mailbox for pick up........Anyway, I thought it'd be cool, PM me if you'd like the address........
It turns out her name is Stacy, she is Autistic, and she is 20.........but she knows EVERYTHING about Schumacher.............it was amazing!!

Sorry this is so long.
