Michael you can just walk into any F showroom, test drive all the cars you want, maybe keep one over the weekend and part exchange your Camry for it plus get some change back for service costs.

If the Ferrari you want is a 456M or possibly a 575, I don't think you'll have any problem buying from dealer inventory.

Hey, maybe Troy Watts is Mr. Green.
Just kidding. It's been a tough day at work and I'm losing it.

This is the second post I have read where you don't stay on topic. Why can't you answer the man's question. What does this Mr.Green have to do with this topic.

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean that I was looking to buy a Ferrari. I was just using the royal "I" It'll be a while until I can afford one.

I think Bruce is correct. The prose , writing style and the inflection sound like our Mr. Green. Coincidence ?

Give the guy a break, I guess he is still learning. Although Bruce is really funny calling this guy Mr. Green. So he is a little wet behind the years, but calling him Green?

Welcome to the board Michael. If you are a Ferrari enthusiast you will learn a lot here.

If you can afford to pay a premium, premium price you can get any car right away. It may not be the exact color/interior you want, but money talks. There is always someone willing to sell for the right price.

If you are willing to pay a distinct premium for the car, and are not overly picky about the special touches, I bet any Ferrari dealer could put you in a car within a few days.

If you are not willing to pay a premium, or you are picky about all the available options inside and out, then the waiting list is your only option.

If you are adventurous, you can use 12-24 months to investigate the market and observe many potential cars. I had 3 PPIed before I selltled on my current F355.

A ferrari is (in many ways) not like other car purchases. You can have the factory match the exterior paint to a sample you provide (except shades of red). You can have the interior leather matched or you can select from about 30 different shades. Seats can have piping, and inserts, or they can be converted into race-like seats. Special luggage is available to fit the available space to make packing possible. You can make you Ferrari the only one with exactly that set of color and assessoriy combination! (and you will pay for this at resale). The added touches may add 3 months to your wait time, but thats a drop in the bucket compared to the lenght of the wait list right now.

I don't think there will be long waiting lists for Toyota Camry's...

I always wondered about the availability of Ferraris. If I wanted to buy a brand new Ferrari, would I just be able to go to the dealer and buy one like a Toyota Camry, or would there be long waiting lists for them.
