I have driven my friends 92 512TR for approx 2000 miles total, that car is simply amazing! I was also in an accident in the same car, and you would not believe how well the car took a hit!! That car is built like a tank, I sure feel safe in a TR.

A series 1 TR is a fantastic, fast, reliable car, I drove one for 4 months. The 512TR is everything that the TR is, just better. Handling, overall interior comfort, more power, oh yeah did I mention MORE POWER? The S1 TR and 512TR may look similar, but they are entirely different animals. The 512TR with a Tubi is unreal. I wish I could afford one!! DAMNIT!

I've had mine for a year now, I've also got the complete service history. The issues you mention have never been a problem for my car in the ten years on the road. As William noted, the cars have the advantage of more development time to sort out the bugs of the earlier versions....Norm

no AC leaks in my 512TR, My fuse box died, cant tell you about the diff, water pump, or clutch. The clutch is different on the 512TR, I guess its improved cus its a newer car. The TR came out in 1985, the 512TR came out in 1992 so it had 7 years to come up with improvements.
The brakes r much better on the 512TR & it has some more hp & less weight & as Tim said the chassis is a lot stiffer so it handles better

It will cost you more to service, but the chassis is stiffer, and alot lighter.

Greetings:

Do most problems of the Testarossa also apply to
the 512 TR?

I know the interior (seats) are supposed to hold up better.

The wheels are obviously addressed.

But....

What about the differential?
What about the water pump?
What about the clutch? Any better?
What about the fuse box?
A.C. leaks ?

Any other items to look for in the 512TR?

Please kindly give me any insight.

Thanks
Ralph Koslin
