You know, I am actually embarrassed that I didn't think of that on my own.

It wasn't unusual for them to bring a new car to market while exhausting remaining suppies of previous spec parts on hand. Remaining 2V motors were used as well as 4V units needed to introduce the model to press and dealer network.

Enzo told me so.

Tommy was that the red/black in Ferrariads?
Congrats!

Tommy,
I just purchased a 308 2v built dec.79, #30485 and from GR from FML it is the 9th last to be imported into the US.
My 2 cents...

I was just looking at Cavallino issue #136. It's serial # listing on 2V/4V 308s is:
1980-82 2V last #: 43079
1982-85 4V first #: 41701

so that's about 689 even # 4V cars made while the 2V was evidentially still in production. Yes I know the Mondial/Boxer/400 were on this assembly line also but this suggests that Ferrari was building 2V and 4V at the same time. Why would they do this? I have always been under the impression that once the tooling was ready for the 4V engines, 2V production ceased. Anyone?
