Mike, are you sure you have to be CA smog legal? There are MANY cars that are imported into CA that aren't what we in CA call "CA cars", and are not CA smog legal.... http://www.dmv.ca.gov/faq/osregfaq.htm#BM2559 call them and ask, if there is a way to bring a non CA car into CA, they used to charge you a $300 smog imact fee (and therefore you don't have to smog your car) but that has been wiped out. Not sure how they handle things now... -Ben |

Has anyone on this site passed the california smog test with an 85 vintage Euro Ferrari? If so, did you do a complete retrofit?, or run alcohol?etc... I am trying to do my homework now on ALL of my options available. I have heard that retrofitting is expensive, but what would be the figure? If anyone in California has had any experience, PLEASE let me know. Also, did the dealer have to disclose how difficult it is to smog this car in California? EPA/DOT paperwork is all intact. Thanks |
