Supposedly Frank Williams have been asking JV to return to Williams ever since Alex Zanardi left his seat open in 2000, but apparently JV was adamant in continuing with his BAR deal especially when they got the factory Honda support.
If all of this silly season talk is true, then next year will be at least as good as this one in terms of drivers capable of taking the championship. I can't wait!

Jacques Villeneuve in a BMW, sweet! It'll be worth waking up at 4 am here on the westcoast again!
Hopefully that'll bring back the Canadian GP as well! |

I read a few quotes today from Frank Williams basically saying how much respect he has for JV and if he is in the right car could return to the top of the pack, I guess it is a possibility the he could make a return to Williams. |

Actually it goes back and forth. JPM has a hook in the contract that would allow him to leave BMW if he doesn't get the championship (actually they other way round: if he clinches the title, he has to stay). But that's gone now obviously.
DC is expected to retire if JPM comes and Daimler wants him. So it is possible, but probably undecided yet.
JV at BMW? That one is new and hard to believe. But possible of course. That would put an end to his excuses for underperforming. |
