thanks for the input on the shocks-I couldn't believe the hefty price myself. Taking a 360 test drive this weekend. |

"The 355 has expensive electronically-controled ferofluid shocks" If they are controlled by ferofluids, then why is there a motor sitting on top of each shock? Thats right its a stepper motor. When the car is keyed on, the servo crnak the shock to full firm then back to full soft to find the operating range. Then while driving the motors follow a programmed radial angle with respect to speed. The following is the shock program for front shocks:
The following is the shock program for the rear shocks:

The 355 has expensive electronically-controled ferofluid shocks, but these still should not be $4k, even installed. Best! Ben. |

My 98 F355 Berlinetta F1 23k will be requiring an upcoming 30k service along ($5k est) w. new shocks ($4k est) brakes, tires and minor adjustments. Car is AWESOME with no complaints (knock on wood). Question to any F355 or 360 owners past or present: Knowing your F355 needed aprox. $11k in service, would you switch to a pre-owned 360 for another $20-30k? If yes, what should I be careful of w. 360 when searching? I've heard about some annoying problems w. various 360's and appreciate any input. Also heard it's difficult to find GOOD 360 techs (even at dealerships). By the way, haven't driven 360 yet so any input on performance differences?
