I know I have opened a tin of worms here but has anyone had experience getting TR clutches rebuilt. I have ordered a new clutch and intend to rebuild the old one and keep it as a spare/exchange for the next poor bastard who has a need for a new one and i can then do a swap with them. Thanks for your input.

Jim,
That statement is ignorant.
Dealers are in operation to support you, the customers. BUT, as a former F car dealer, we are held to buy from the local importer only. This is why FNA dealer prices are high. Importation of some of the bits into this country is very expensive. FNA also pays shipping to all dealers no matter the size of the box.

Ted Rutland has spent years buliding realtionships overseas directly with the manufacturs of the parts. He is cutting out the middle men being FNA and the dealer.

Your statement is not true, for as a delaer I would make on average LESS then 32% profit margin on Ferrari parts. A friend at a local Ford dealer makes on average 43-51% profit every month.

The dealers are NOT looting the public.

Anthony, its not just an Aussie phenom. I got my clutch pak at TRutlands.com for $1,500 US. The local FNA dealers wanted $3,000. The dealers seem to be looting the public. Buy elsewhere.

My tr has just started having a slipping clutch when in secon gear and with full throttle. This is probably as a result of some nasty driving at the recent Ferrari nationals in Adelaide and the motorkhana where I went gardening off the bitumen onto the grass and entertained the spectators. I have priced a new clutch kit and it amazes me at the differing prices. Ferrari Australia want $5500.00aud and I can get the same over the net for $3300.00aud why is there such a difference are they just trying to rip me off because we are further away from mainstream ferrari. It realy infuriates me when this sort of thing happens. Is there any "best place" to buy these parts.
