Steve:
Be careful. Search the web for importing cars into Canada. You will find a company called RIV (registered importer for vehicles - I believe) and also transport Canada) - they post a list with vehicles you can import. Most BMW and Porsche (even Lotus and Jag) are fine without modifications (just labeling and daytime driving lights), but those Ferrari which are eligible, require more modifications, like different bumpers! In addition you have to pay 14 % taxes (PST/GST) plus 7 % duties (Italian import) plus the normal modifications like labeling, child anchor system modification, daytime running lights etc. After those modifications done you need a certification from Ferrari of North America (good laugh here from me) that this car is the same as the other vehicles imported into Canada for that year - I think it's pretty unrealistic going through that process.

Screw daytime running lights, just drive around with the fog lights on.

that is correct. You have to convert the car to Canada specs. The daiylight running lights etc. Check with your local auhorities about how much a conversion is going to cost you and import duty and tax. That might be of no interest to you after that.
It is the same when Canada cars are coming to the US. They need to be converted (mostly).

I have been searching for a 355 and most of the Ad's are for cars located in the US. So i decided to pay a visit the local Ferrari dealer, who announced me that i couldn't buy a US car and register it in Canada. Is this true? I am also looking for anyone selling a 355 in the Toronto area.
thank you-
