Leo:
Tell me about the M3 convertible, please. What you like, what you don't like.
Thanks,
Christian

No, the best thing is a corvette doesnt need a $5k service every 15k miles, or probably ever for that matter. My friends camaro has the same engine (practically) and it has 40,000mi on it with no problems whatsoever, and its modified

The best thing when comparing a Ferrari to a Corvette is that at 30,000 miles the Corvette is due another oil change for $19.95. $39.95 if you go for the Mobil 1.

A stock Z06 will take an F50 on the skidpad (.95G vs. 1.00G)...No I'm not saying it's better than the F50, just a little technical tidbit.

I just bought a new m3 cabrio. Because I live in NY having a Ferrari is very unpractical. soon as My father retires I will joing him in living in Boca Raton..by that time I will get myself a 355.

A dealer in town has a new 2002 yellow Z06 for 77,000 Canadian which is list. I also looked at a convertible which goes for around 70,000 Canadian. All prices plus 17 % taxes. I think they are cheap for the buck. A german car magazine tested the Corvette convertible against M3, Porsche and Jag and was impressed too. The convertible with 6 speed goes from 0 to 200 km/h almost as fast as a 360 Spider. Hello!

But I don't like the interior to be honest. The M3 is still number 1 on my list for now, also because it has 4 seats.

I've raced with C5's both on the track and autocross. They perform great in each setting. Fast enough for the straights. Firm handling for the fast turns. Great brakes and quick handling for the tight turns.

They'll give any comparable Viper, Porsche, or Ferrari a good fight.

I'm glad to see there are other Corvette enthusiasts, they are great cars.

A very wise addition in my opinion. I am thinking about doing the same thing. I want a Yellow convert.

The 02 is 405. Coming soon though (03?) is a 450hp Viper killer.

William,
I believe the '02 ZO6 is 405 hp not 450.

the 02 model will have 450 hp. The Z06 is sweet but I just cant get over that goofy rear window, WTH were the designers thinking??
My experience with a ZO6 ? :) He,He My last track day this season I hooked up my 512TR behind a Z06 at Watkins Glen, We were nose to tail for about 5 laps, I mean I was no more than 5 ft off his back bumper for 5 laps, I finally got around him & I took off, 2 laps later my brakes failed & I had to blow through the chicane to slow down. Plenty of fun though :)

Any of you have any experience with the Z06?...I love my Modena and my other cars, but after seeing an electric blue Z06 at the Miami Beach Auto show, had to have it. It's coming in in 7 days and looks like lots of car for the bucks. Now you know the 360 stays put...can't give that up.
