Just wanted to thank everyone for their support. Been very trying acting positive and nonchalant with my wife laid up and the driver simply a basketcase. Of course I am depressed, angry and a bit shocked as I viewed the car as three joyful missionss; finding it, restoring it and driving it - all of which are completely gone now. But then again, I can now start anew on finding, restoring and driving the next one. Perhaps the best part of it is that my kids are already asking when it will be that they can ride in the Ferrari again - reason enough to get in gear and find another! I have received many requests for salvage with a few folks worried that they might seem opportunistic. Don't worry, happy to see any or all of 92465 live on as it was intended. I will keep track of this and let you all know where it can be found. I may end up purchasing it at salvage and keep a few things for myself if I can find another but always willing to help others get what they need from it. One item that I did salvage that has been a bit of a hot topic was the toolkit. It was complete and if I find another car with a kit, this kit will go to Allen Satterlee (T Coupe Allen) who spent the most time going over his car with me at/post Concorso before I purchased this one. A reminder that the joys of ownership don't always end with the driver. The rest, as they say, will be up for grabs after the final insurance verdict is in. Thanks, JMG |

I am glad they are both okay. The weird thing is, I saw you and your car down in Redmond on Sunday...walked across the street in front of it, and was admiring it--strange to see it like it is now! |

Are your wife and the; I assume female friend still friends after this incident? If it was my wife who let her friend drive my Ferrari, I would still be raising HELL! Dan |

John, come down to visit and take the t Coupe out for a spin anytime. It may help your mood. If you decide to do what Rob Lay Suggests, give me a call. Regards, Allen |

some pics!!! again I am glad everyone was ok------not to seem like a vulture but it looks like the fabric of the top is ok. Does anyone know if that will fit on a 3.2 mondial? I need a new top. What about the boot cover? This does sound terrible but I would be willing to pay a good price |

JMG, if they're not in jpg or gif format, that alone will cut the size down 80% or so, otherwise, just making the number of pixels smaller until the size gets down. Even the largest pic in jpg or gif should still be allowed to download on FerrariChat.com. Links to other sites works great too. |

Well, here tis. All I can say is Holy Sh!t, I can't believe my wife got away with the minor injuries she had. Credit goes to Ferrari for building strong seats...I think in many other cabs this would have been in two pieces.
I have more but they are mega-large so I will post them on my home page with the nice shiney photos! |

JMG, I drive my Mondial T Cab in the city and I think the T stands for "tank" and your wife's freind proved it. These are the most fun rugged conv. sports cars around. and as you now know they are lifesavers in an accident. Wierd how there is another current thread here about mid-engine ferraris slidding sideways andmishandling inteh "wrong" hands. Hope your wife has a speedy recovery. NOW..did you Mondial have a "living will" did the car have a "parts donor" card that stipulated it was ok, in case of her death that you could sell the vital parts to help enrich the life of another Mondial T.... if so let me know I have a list and it would be a great help as there are very few of these beautiful convertible around...I am so sick.. your car was so beautiful and special and only a well loved convertible ferrari can be..it is great news that all you lost was the car. |

The thing I left out is the number of "trusted" family is pretty small, and my wife has never driven it. |

The car can be replaced, your wife's friend can be replaced , but your wife cannot be -- the correct thing/person was saved. Be thankful, be sad for a couple weeks, then cheer up and start the search for another car. You'll find one. BTW Jimpo1 -- that list of potenial drivers of yours is way too long in my book. How about you, the wife and the mechanic only? |

Thank goodness everyone is ok. DANG that car was gorgeous. Did you know that her friend was driving your Ferrari? I would have a few choice words with her friend, if I could just get my hands out from around her neck. Sorry again man. |

That sad story highlights why NO one will ever drive my car, except my wife and trusted family, unless I'm in it. This whole thread conjured pictures in my head of some of MY wifes friends behind the wheel of my car. These women can't even change a light bulb! Now I'm sitting here in a cold sweat. Sorry about your car John. |

NOOOO!!!! Not another one. The pain is just getting too great. The important part is no serious injuries. I remember when you posted your success in getting the georgious Cab. I'm so sorry and share the loss.. as I know first hand. Tomorrow is 2 weeks since my pony 348ts S/N 89568 died (I'm still in mourning). Please stay here and keep in tune, keep involved and never-never lose the passion. >> Larry |

It is with great sadness that I announce that my Mondial T was wrapped around a tree last night. I was not in it but my wife and her friend were - her friend was driving. Driver ok, my wife has a concussion, a few stiches in the forehead and a seperated shoulder but should recover fully. I will post pictures after I check it out at the impound lot tomorrow. I have not seen it but officers tell me that the tree was 12-14" into the car at the passenger door. Happy Ferrari builds cars that protect the folks in them... On the bright side, it should look good in the post-trauma pictures since I just finished about 80 hours of work on the interior (carpet, leather, assorted lights etc) in the past 3 weeks and a complete exterior detail. It is the car in my profile... |
