If you have a .JPG or a .GIF photo on your hard drive or from a floppy, follow the insructions in the "Formatting" section (I think its also in the "User Tips" section) of this site. just type: \image {Nicks pic} (no space between the "image" and the "{") |

Kenny my experiences so far have been pretty good. Ive had 3 Lotus and they have all been ok and each one was newer than the last and therefore more reliable as the engineering improved. Fun cars, pretty easy to live with. Im searching for my first Ferrari as we speak. |

I had an 84 Fiero for several years. The fire problem was the 2.5 liter engine had a 3 pint oil sump! You'd run down too far and the destroying engine would poke a hole and start a fire. It was recalled and fitted with a 4 pint sump; still small but better. Also, the head gasket developed leaks and was recalled for that, as was the hand brake. Still not a bad car for a poor kid like me. |
J. Grande (Jay)
| Posted on Tuesday, November 06, 2001 - 4:28 pm: | |
That was only a problem in 84 on the 4 cyl due to a wiring harness being to close to the exhaust manifold. I never experienced anything like that. The Northstar fits and feels like it belongs in it. My web site has more info www.members.home.net/jaygrande |

Some of you may laugh...but I own a 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT. It is NOT a replica kit car. It is bone stock with one exception. I ripped out the 2.8 V6 and intalled a 1997 32 Valve Northstar V8. It has 300hp, leather interior, digital dash and 295ft/lbs of torque. It is extreemly fast and runs the 1/4 mile in 13.4@105mph. It's been a blast to drive, but now I want something more exotic. My whole life I wanted a Ferrari, and soon enough I will have one.

Russ, I can't believe that someone else here actually LIKES Triumph GT-6s. I've had and restored 4 over the years. Very quick and nimble for the minimum buck, but somewhat impractical for Southern California - when the (cardbard or fiberboard?) tunnel covering the trans breaks down, the temp inside the car rivals a sauna on the best of days. I ran into a guy who was an engineer for British Leyland who told me about a 6 cyl Spitfire they were developing before the project was dropped - so I combined a GT-6 chassis/drivetrain/front bonnet with a Spitfire body and created my own GT-6 convertible. I ended up giving to a local enthusiast - no idea where it is now. PSP |

I got my parents to trade in their boring old MB 190E on a 500E, Now THATS A car. It can give a 328 a bad hair day. In case you dont know it, its an MB limited production car. in 1990 MB would take a 300E body off the assembly line & send it to Porsche who would attach suspension & brakes, then it went back to MB where they installed a honey of a 5.0 V8, serious power. I find it hilarious that my Mom can tool around in it to the supermarket or hairdresser & it acts like a 300E, then I get it & mash the throttle & it turns into a 4 door Ferrari

William, I'm not registered on that board. I've taken a look at it once or twice but really don't use it. I check out this site much more often for the technical support/advise/info, seeing as Ferraris are a much more complex animal than old corvettes. |

They're all in an insulated area of the shop. The Mustang is in the midst of a ground up. The TR-3 I've had for 34 years. The MGA and the Mini are on the list for restoration in the next year or so. My problem is I like them all. Each car has it owns characteristics and satisfies in different ways. 1987 Ferrari 328S 1986 Ferrari Testarossa 1984 Corvette C-4 1980 Triumph TR-7 Conv 1977 Porsche 911S 1973 Triumph TR-6 1972 Triumph GT-6 1970 Jaguar XKE Coupe 1968 Mustang Fastback GT 1968 Austin Mini Cooper 1968 Triumph TR-5 PI (German) 1963 Spitfire FP vintage racecar 1962 Triumph TR-4 1959 Morris Mini 850 RHS 1958 Triumph TR-3 1958 MGA 1500 Conv The weather early today was absolutely great in central upstate NY, so the 328 got exercised for a few hours. Damn it felt good. The roads up here in the rural Fingerlakes region are fantastic for sports cars. |

Ernesto that Supra is a beast. The Supra and the 3000GT are the only jap sports cars I would ever buy. I was actually looking into buying a tt supra for awhile, then I got the 308 instead. My next sports car is mostlikely gonna be a Ferrari, probably a 512TR. For know I'll be grateful that I have one sports car. |

the 2000 BMW M5 is a sweet car On the 3000GTVR4 I had to replace the transaxle, at about $1500. No other problems, never had a trans problem, maybe cus I always double clutch & never drag race. It has 98,000 miles. I blew a piston at Pocono but thats cus I overboosted & she leaned out & burned up, My fault not the car's |

William, have you had any problems with the 3000GT? I had a 1991 Dodge Stealth TT AWD up until about 1993, when I traded it for the Supra. I blew like four trannies before the dealer in Miami told me to f**k off. Other than that, a solid car. Have you ever heard of Isaac Perez in Panama? I have a VHS video of him and a passenger driving at insane speeds all over Panama roads in his 500HP 3000GT (both with helmets on). At the end, a car cuts him off and he is forced to swerve into a guardrail. The car flips over and ends up at the side of the road. Pretty crazy stuff. This was back in 1992 or 1993. Ernesto PS I'm glad I'm not the only one around here with a rice rocket! |

Heres my rice rocket 92 Mitsu 3000GTVR4, around 400hp at all 4 wheels, sticks like a ravenous leach & 6 piston calipers up front. She was within 1.5 seconds of my 512TR at most tracks Before the brake upgrade. When she gets back from an engine rebuild with titanium connecting rods & a full race engine I am sure she will b considerably faster. But nothing dances around a track like a Ferrari
