Maybe they weren't "stealing" them, they were just going to see if they helped their own car go faster... |

I had the same thing happen to me last year. I was even on a stake out in another car during lunch break when the kids get off school. Didn't catch them then. Caught one right at the school when I picked up my partners kid. He pissed right in his pants. :-)) Then I used a self tightening washer and tightened them really hard. That worked for unscrewing with your finger. They learned though and tried with a plyer and the result is a bad scratch around the valve in my rim! The caps are still on though! Now I had spread the word among them that driving an italian car means I am n the mafia and if they **** with me I will have them killed! Nothing since then! |

Are`nt you living in USA, I must have been waching Ally McBeal too much because I belived that that kind of behavier ( confiscating a bicyckle ) would bring you to jail.Be allways very careful when you touch a kid, his daddy may be a layer. And by the way what kind of evidence did you have against this kid, this one had ever seen the other one who stole the walve stem caps. Criminals have more rights than victims |

Oh quit picking on the kid and making him cry. He's going to tell his Daddy and he will beat you up. All kidding aside I think it was a great lesson. He doesn't know it now but later on he will respect that lesson you gave him. |

I haven't heard fighting words like that since I was a dumb-ass kid in high school that thought he knew everyting. What great memeories. (how wrong I was) LOL This should be good! Hey guys... remember, it is the cool dude that can laugh at himself. I think the photos of the kid crying are great! We have all been there. As a kid I dare anyone to tell me they didn't do something dumb. Me? Throwing corn from a cliff 8 stories high about a mile before cars got to that point. (to bad it was a cop car) LOL But as an adult we can all feel for punks that steel stuff from us. I'd love to set up a extoic car with a camera just to catch the rats that dare to key a car. Great line from movie Pulp Fiction if anyone remebers John Trovolta. Anyway... I wanted to remind every-one to play nice and remember that life is how we see it. Some times were mad and somtimes we are happy,... that's life. Sure has been a few little thread. |

Christian, Why do you always get your panties in such a knot all the time on this chartroom. If I remember correctly you are the one that is usually is getting personal with other people here. This is the 1st time I have posted here mainly because of people like you that makes it not fun anymore. By the way, regarding your picture in your profile: Are you the fruit loop with the long hair? Or the one with the vacuum cleaner giving him self a B-job with it? Any ways who ever you are the other one is your boyfriend right? Sorry Rob no disrespect to you or your wonderful site. It is just some people drive me nuts. |

This is the answer I got from Mondial 350 From: Salla, Edward To: 'Christian Kienle' Sent: Thursday, November 08, 2001 10:03 AM Subject: RE: your post on Ferrari chat Are you being defensive? If so, was anything I said true? end of email. Looks as if he meant it personal. Must be totally frustrated with his worthless life. Can you imagine him walking along the streets with his children with no hands and the people are asking him who did that to them? |

Bret, Ferrari of Los Gatos has plenty of them for $25.00. I called yesterday and spoke with them. They said they were well stocked and offered to send me some. I think I will drive by and pick up a set. They have both kinds, the metal ones are $25.00. I did not ask the price of the plastic ones. Dan |

Teaching kids to live a moral life can only done by their parents. Of course the environment plays a very important role, society, schools, media etc. But (sorry Bret) it's like the death parole in the States: Doesn't change anything, the more you kill them, the more aggressive they get. I would be with you (also with the death sentence), but why do it when things only get worse, revenche is hate and we all know it's often not the most clever thing to do. Just my 2 cents, I know, most don't agree with me but everybody gets what they deserve. Haha! |

I has someone try to pry the hood emblem off my 308; they are bolted on so all they did was ruin the badge, dent the heck out of hood (leaving imbeded broken screwdriver tip in hood) and then run the broken screw driver across hood. There would have been no survivours if I had caught them! |

Christian, This is probably the best thing ever to happen to this little one. Why do you think the police gave him such a hared time? Why do you think the other parents didn't want to interrupt their hour watching TV ("Temptation Island") to take the time to spend with a misguided child. It is a tough and unforginving world out there. We are spoiled here in the USA. In other countries, not so blessed, they kill petty theifs. And, in the case of a child, cut off his hand. A wise man once said, "Raise a child up in the path he should take and when he is grown, he will not depart from it." (I'll bet your kids will turn into theifs and never leave your home.) I thank you Randy for taking the time. |

I have to pay Canadian 30 to the dealer in Vancouver. Where can you get them for US 14? BTW: I totally disagree with the boys behaviour but I think that the reaction was unacceptable as well. Remember, we know only one side of the story and the fact that the guy had a blast photographing a crying 6/7 year old tells me something about him. |

YESSS. I've had about a dozen of those yellow prancing horse emblem valve stem caps stolen by now by little bastards when I go out. I just gave up and have black ones on now, but I'm gonna order some more and really torque em down this time. I remember I was actually going outside of my dad's shop to go tighten them down with a wrench because I figured that would solve it, when I got outside all four were gone (my car was sitting for like an hour before I came out). Bastards. Where's the best place to get them? The dealership doesn't have them anymore and they wanted like $25 for them anyway. |

Agree that at $12.95/4 valve caps they make good sacrificial lambs for the miscreants. So far no thieves here in the NW but probably inevitable.Lot of envious creeps out there who believe we "inherited" our cars rather than having worked our tails off to save for the dream. |

I can't remember who was selling them at CI this year but there was a sideshow vendor selling locking valve stem covers. Pretty neat but I forgot to go back and pick them up. Anyone remember these at the show? |

tip on the logo valve covers. I have them too I think we all love them they really add a nice touch... they caps have a hexagonal shape so I take a wrench and really torque 'em down real tight.. they become hard to take off with bare hands and they also help "seal" any valve leaks. I also have a healthy attitude and look upon my logo caps as "sacrificial" items that are cheap protection against my more prized Ferrari emblems like the prancing horse on the nose..theives love that one and the "FERRARI" name onthe rear deck..I go through about one every other month of those .. I am thinking of just making them magnetic so they reduce the damage to the rear deck on the inevitable "pry and pull" removal. tough town for ferrari sometimes. |

How much did your Ferrari logo valve caps cost? I bought a set last week from USA, I think they will arrive in 2 or 3 weeks. They cost a little fortune compared with Bentley and Rolls ones. But anyway I think my baby deserves everything good, nice and expensive :-) I never park any of my cars anywhere away from my view, so I do not think they will disapear. |

[quote] Off the SupraFourm. ROFLMAO!!!!!!! Funney $hit!!! as taken from: http://bimmerforums.com/forum/ oh man ive never been so pissed in my life, let me start from the top: I was going to buy some new shoes so i parked on a side street and i noticed two young kids on BMX bikes riding around on the other side of the street. *click* i walk away from the car after locking the doors. I looked back at my baby once every 15 feet as i usually do but i notice these kids eyeing my car. Hmmmmm, ok so i keep walking and pretending not to see. Im 1/2 block away as i see those little vultures hover around my car. Im like "oh no you didn't" as i see them squat down to snag my valve stem caps. I bolt outta nowhere like Oj simpson running for the end zone and one kid takes his bike and runs off and i catch the other one. I was shaking from being so pissed, i took his bike literally and i said get the **** outta here, if you dont get me back my valve stems im taking your bike. He starts balling, saying "noo noo i didnt do it!!!! My dad just bought my bike." I open my trunk as if im going to put it in there and he crys like a newborn baby. I yell at him to go get my valve stem caps if he wants his bike. 1 hours goes by, no valve stem covers, a wining little **** whos crying for his mommy. So after calling the other kids parents who were not cooperating, i called the cops. Cops came filed a report, and chewed the little **** out. There were 3 huge cops, who made the kid sit on the ground as they questioned him. He was scared ****less!!! To make a long story short, his parents came and repaid me for the valve stems and i made a "little" profit if you know what i mean The whole time i was teasing the kid telling him hes gonna be in jail and he would'nt stop crying. I took out my camara and took like 10 picts of him and told him "this is for the cover of tommarows newspaper". Am i mean? ya........is this justice? hell ya! Here are some picts
