I have an 87 Mondial 3.2, I believe that they are prone to rear wheel bearing failures, I have had to replace one of mine at 53,000 klm

A friend of mine in Sydney also has a Mondial 3.2, I think with about 70,000 klm, his entire rear wheel, axle & all came off on a track day at about 100 Km/h!

You gotta wonder. I guess when you have so much money that it doesnt matter, but still, get another car or a dog or something, not a wooden model. Would you show people a wooden model of a car? I think most would laugh at the 200K you spent on it.

If it wasn't supposed to be driven a lot it would just be a big model. Would you pay this much for a big model? I mean think about it. I wouldn't pay 99.95 for a model needless to say tens of thousands.

High mileage is not really an issue, its care. I just saw a Mondial this week at the shop. No care, low mileage (<15,000) -- piece of crap. There's another Mondial there forgot the mileage but definitely 2x more -- looks great and runs great. What I have found is that most things on the F-cars are fine if used. Unused then its a toss-up. But then there are the racers where the car gets used to its limits and their problems are different (warped rotors, clutches etc.). Don't really have to worry about tramsmissions and such unless you are going to be going gung ho in the car. Get a car that is well-cared for, do the same, and you'll be fine.

Hi Though I do not have a high milage F-car yet, here are two cars/drivers that I have just met recently. Both are 86 328s, the first with 75,000 miles and the second with about 50,000. The second owner only had a problem with his fuel injectors and though I dont know the entire history of the first car, it is used as a daily driver and is in immaculate condition. As a footnote, I had a 328 purchased with 7000 miles and drove it for two years. I sold it with 20,000 miles and only had a problem with the thermostat.

I have 70,000 miles on a 308 GTS QV and I use it as a daily driver the reliabilty factor seems to be very high.

Based on what I read on Ferrari Chat and hear elsewhere the more you use it the less problems you have, it should be noted that I am somewhat biased when it comes to garage or trailer queens.

Each model has different problems, on the 308s the rear stub axles tend to snap if u run them too hard with modern rubber.
On the 512TR & F40 the transmission is delicate

I'm sure other models have their problems also

Those that have high milage Ferraris (well over 50K miles), how is the reliability and value of your car?

I imagine there are some of you out there that have race-only F-cars that run them hard and they have hard driven miles - have you expereinced any more issues than what you'd normally see for the number of miles that is on your car?
