I think it was S01's that my local Bridgestone guy quoted at nearly $300, tirerack has them for about $220F, $240R. I'll call tirerack tomorrow and see what they recommend. Martin, I'm hesitant to lower the aspect ratio any, as the front spoiler currently clears my driveway by about 1mm. On the upside, I guess a little more tread depth will give me a bit more clearance. My RE71 rears were replaced last summer, and I had found some in that size, but can't find the fronts anywhere. If I could find some fronts, I'd buy them, then modernize all 4 later on. Would it be unwise, or socially unacceptable to mismatch the fronts and rears until the rears wear out? Are the S01's a supersoft "R" type compund? When you mailorder tires, do you have them shipped to the house, then dismount the wheels take the whole thing down to discount tire and have them mount and balance?? Is that like taking your own meat to a restaurant? Thanks for any help. Mark |

I have the SO3pp's on my M5 and love them. But, I would go with the PZeros for the 348. |

Pole Positions? wait, which ones? the S02 PP's or the S03 PP's? The S02 PP's I'd stay away from. I have the AVS Sports on my non-F car, like them in the rain, they talk alot around corners and seem to last a lot longer than OEM S02's, but again, 220 vs. 160 treadwear. Give Conner @ Tire Rack a call and see what he recommends for your tastes. |

Mark; I have put Yokohama AVS Sport on the car. Bought from Tire Rack. The fronts are lower profiles, they do not come in 50 but only in 45. Go for new tires. The Yokohama is a good tire overall but a great super great rain tire. You have never driven a Ferrari better in rain than with the AVS Sport. |

Mark: Just remember still available and discontinued are two different things. A company will gladly say a discontinued tire is still avaible to sell out their stock, but what if you get a flat on one of them -- your out of luck in short order. Get the tire that isi n actual production so you can get it again if needed. |

Check www.tirerack.com I think the RE71s are still aval. and I think the pole positions are less than 200 per tire. |

I've given up on finding 215 RE71's for the front of my 348. What is the best current tire to replace them with? Are the pole positions worth nearly $300/tire??. Thanks for any advice. Wet weather performance is not an issue as the car is rarely driven in the wet. Mark McKenzie |
