"Ferrari dino 308 & Mondial Gold Portfolio" covers the 308 from 1974 to the Mondial in 1985. Its by Brooklands Books and has comparisons, road tests and specs. It is in Black and white but it has just about every magazine article on the 308 series of cars. It has been a big help in my search for a 308/mondial. But I think the best book for the money is Original V8 Ferrari. Lots of photos and comparisons. Then there is as was mentioned Forza magazine, which does the Ferrari comunity a great service.

Jorma,
collecting Ferrari-Books is a real passion. I have now 560 titles. It is difficult to say which one is the best. Of course the most valuable books are from the factory, all the yearbooks and the books written by Enzo himself (piloti che gente, the Red book, il flobert, Ferrari 80). Here some of the better books: Formula Ferrari (Paolo d'Alessio), Ferari Opera Omnia (from Automobilia), Ferrari in Camera (Geoff Goddard/ Doug Nye), Ferrari 1947-1997 (The Official Book), Ferrari (Hans Tanner/Doug Nye), the complete Ferrarissima-Series,L'Idea Ferari, Ferrari - The Man, the Machine (Stan Grayson/ Automobile Quarterly), Ferrari- Beauty and Detail (Singer), all the Ferari books from Antoine Prunet, La Scuderia Ferrari 1929-1939 (Orsini/ Zagari), Ferrari Automobili 1947-1953 (Orsini/ Zagari), Ferrari by Pininfarina (Cornil), Ferrari - The Sports and Gran Turismo Cars (Fitzgerald/ Merrit/ Thompson), the complete Cavalleria-series from Cavaleria Vaduz, Ferrari Glory (Cancellieri), the Köneman-books by Schlegelmilch, and, and , and ...

On the other side there are lot of horrible bad Ferrari-books, only one of them "Jeremy Clarkson on Ferrari" which was very expensive, now it is sold off at very low prices.

If you begin to collect Ferrari books you can't stop it !

And then there are the magazines: Cavallino, Forza, Ferrari-World . . .

A similar question came up recently - and Original Ferrari V8 was recommended - it has great photography, but it is a little dry reading.

While I was looking for my car I also bouth a Brooklands Road test book - a series of books which collates old Read tests from various magazines, usually model specific. I found it really interesting to see what people thought of these cars when they were new, and got some great driving impressions rather than specifications.

Unfortunately the pics are all black and white, but I still recommend this one highly. (There are several other Ferrari titles available)

Another good one is Ferrari by Pininfarina (Cornil). A great coffee table book with a nice slip cover.FbyP

I am looking for the best reading on the 308 series. I have heard of various books but am looking for honest opinions. which is good reading? Not just specs, but plenty of photos(color) and just plain good reading. I am planning a 308 purchase next summer and would like to get started on research now.

First Ferrari book since I'm a newbie to the subject: Ferrari: The Road Cars by Keith Bluemel. Includes color and b/w photos, chronology, brief history/biography. How the stallion logo came to be, subtle differences between models, etc. This is a very informative book!
